Can I begin to say WOW! The food was so amazing. A cool and Innovating twist on Caribbean food. Everything was so delicious. The beef Pattie’s were nothing I’ve ever tasted before, they were light and packed with flavor accompanied by the sauce. The oxtail was flavorful and the jerk chicken was perfectly cooked. Also I wouldn’t skip out on the dessert. The carrot cake is so moist. Highly recommend also our server was amazing! Great customer service
Love this place! The decor is beautiful and our server was personable, friendly and very knowledgeable. The West Indian inspired menu was small, but everything we tried was absolutely delicious. It's definitely elevated West Indian home food, which is reflected in the prices you can expect to pay. Have a glass or two of the Likklemore rum punch, you won't be disappointed. The DJ that was there when we were was phenomenal, way better than anything else we were able to find in the area that Saturday night.
Beautiful restaurant with incredible food! I came for a date night here on a Saturday night and the overall ambience of this place was amazing- the music was great and the vibes were immaculate. From the drinks, appetizers, mains and desserts, everything was delicious! The biggest standouts to me were the Mac pie, jerk chicken and the patties. This is a gem of a restaurant that you must try. I will definitely be back!
Went Friday evening, the food was AMAZING. Started with the doubles and patties, both were delicious with their accompanying sauces. The Mac pie was extremely tasty and a much larger portion than expected. The star of the evening for me was the lamb platter, I'd HIGHLY recommend it! The drinks were good, the vibe of the place was nice, and the service was exceptional. I'll be back again!
My partner and I were so excited when we’re heard about this place as we are from the Caribbean and have been having a hard time finding authentic Caribbean restaurant food in Toronto. We had takeout a couple days ago, and were not impressed, but thought we would give it another try and came tonight to see the inside. We were also keen on supporting this Jamaican owned establishment, but both times felt hungry, disappointed and dissatisfied! We had undercooked bland jerk chicken, escovitch fried fish that tasted like it had PVC for flavouring which we had to send back, wet crab legs with some mushy rice concoction underneath that had no Caribbean flavours, Oxtail that was two big pieces one piece was too tough to eat and the other piece mediocre at best; the oxtail also had no thyme, broad beans and minimal sauce, gross fried plantain chips that look like you could buy from a bag at the convenience store. Not what we call fine dining. I won’t mention the taste of the oxtail patties, cod fritters, or beans and turkey appetizers as it is not worth it. The place has a nice ambience and music and it was great to see so many black and brown people socialization together in a great setting. However, these two experiences set my partner and I back over $500 for a non-authentic weird infusion of so called Jamaican cuisine. Not worth it unless they can improve on their flavouring of these dishes to capture some of the truly authentic Jamaican taste. PS: DON’T BE FOOLED BY THE GREAT LOOKING PICTURES!
My family and I visited Miss Likklemore's to celebrate my birthday. What an experience! The ambience, service and the food, top notch. I would describe it as upscale Caribbean. Every dish we ordered was GLORIOUS! The menu is family style so if you decide to go, bring some friends and your appetite
It was meh. We were celebrating my birthday and it was our first time here. I come from a Caribbean background Jamaican so I appreciated the new/modern spin on the classic staples. The atmosphere was beautiful, the servers were kind and the seating felt private although it is a small space. We sat at a booth. The bar looked awkward to sit at. That being said, the price was not worth what it was at all. None of the food was hot when it came out which sucked. For these prices, you’d think they would offer a little dessert or something when celebrating an occasion but they didn’t. The cocktails were incredible though! They have over 100 rums to choose from and the menu is sorted by Country of Origin. All in all, I think this restaurant is completely overrated. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re going for cocktails.
If I could live at this restaurant, I would. The food, drinks and service were all incredible. My favourite dishes are: the slaw, beef patties, shrimp, ox tail, carrot cake! Ox tail is a must try! I can’t say enough good things about this place. Love the vibe and love the food. I’ve been here 3 times within the first month it’s opened. Needless to say, I will for sure return!
The food here is amazing! We had the fried okra, house pepper sauces and doubles for the appetizers and they were all so flavourful. The pepper sauces were each so nuisance - some sweet, others tart but all perfectly spicy. The sauces paired so well with the fried okra. The okra’s texture was incredible and it’s flavour so unique. For the mains we had the tofu curry and jerk chicken. The tofu curry was beautifully balanced with texture from the vegetables and pumpkin seeds, body from the puréed base and sweetness from the chayote. The jerk chicken was so tender and packed with flavour. Finally for dessert we had Miss Paula’s carrot cake and it did not disappoint - simply plated but so complex in taste it is clear that it is a family treasure. We would 100% go back again for the food, ambience and service. Highly recommend!
Had the pleasure of having a birthday dinner here with friends and was very happy with the outcome. The food was incredible and loved the fact there's so many different types of rum! It's a great place to bring any Rum lovers. My partner really enjoyed the vibe and our waiter was so nice and fun! The food is dinner style - so we started off with the Patties as appetizers and then got the Oxtail with the coconut rice. Overall had a good experience :
