Used to go to the Dickens in Richmond Hill when I was much younger, and was curious about how this new location would be. Came with a big group family birthday, and the staff here were all very friendly and attentive with our group. Service was fantastic and we even got a private room. Value wise it felt pretty good - I ordered a Hainanese chicken lunch deal which was $15.99 comes with soup and a drink as well, which is pretty average these days. My partner got the ox tongue. The only thing I would say is that the food could use a little more seasoning mainly salt, which I say hesitantly because usually restaurants use more salt than they need to. But our dishes were a little bit on the blander side. I think with a bit of fine tuning on the seasoning this place would be a can't miss.
Location for HK Style food. They have sets you can choose from or order individual dishes. Love their Wings & Beer promo along with their snack options that’s available every Friday & Saturday. The perfect combo for late night comfort food! They also have a vip room where you can reserve for large gatherings. Overall, had a great experience!
Soooooo satisfied with the abundance of great tasty snacks and delicious Hong Kong style food! Nice to have a room for our group to share the sets and drinks. Love the cool design and comfy seating, and nice service as well. Would definitely come back to tryout other menu items with family.
I haven't been to Dickens in years but it's nice to see they are still around. This location is an upgrade from their last place - renovated nicely. The food is as great as before but - be prepared to pay higher prices.Food: 5/5
I have been frequenting Dickens since day one when it opened its doors at Finch and Midland in Scarborough decades ago. Through the years, it moved to various locations including the Chalmers and Hwy 7 plaza and the Leslie and 16th plaza. I must say that the restaurant has consistently maintained its standards in terms of food quality, service and decor. This time at the Apple Creek and Woodbine location, I particularly like the impressive wall mural painting of the Toronto skyline. We'll be back to try something else. Parking: The parking lot is poorly lighted at night.
Highly recommend the White source chicken rice, it's very tender juicy inner and crispy outer skin! There are so many meat with each portion! During the lunch, It come with soup and garlic bread which are also very high quality. The price was slightly on the low side for fine dining with such big portion! Will come back to try more!
Been here a few times. Location just reopened. Appetizer red or white soup and escargot are ok. I like their smoked salmon and shredded chicken with spaghetti in cream sauce.
It moved to another location. Staff is nice, place is much bigger than before. But the foods are little bit cold, not warm enough, hopefully they will improve it. Borscht soup is favourite, very tasty and rich.
Nice ambience, good size menu and great food quality. Prices are fair. I had their famous German Pork Knuckle see photo. It was delicious. It is massive, you must go hungry.
Had the Baked chicken steak with cheese in creamy spinach sauce for $19.99. It was good, I only finished half, very filling. The chicken is amazing. The place can be a little more on the expensive side.
