Arrived at around 11:30am, went inside to check in to the waiting list. Got a table after 30 minutes. It's a small restaurant with limited seating but the service is quick and the portions are great. I believe that all of the menu items come with a milk tea/coffee milk tea and most are under $10. No wonder there's always a line up here The fried chicken with avocado pineapple bun had a lot of fried chicken inside and the bun was crispy and toasted. We moved a bunch of the fried chicken over on to a plate, couldn't believe there was so much chicken in there. It was really worth it for the price. The baked pork chop rice has fried rice underneath. You have a choice of 3 sauces BBQ, tomato, and I forgot the third, but the BBQ sauce was really salty. The pink lady drink was a favourite in my family, had some flower petals in the drink and some salt on the glass. I think it was Sprite with plum juice? mixed together with some orange rinds at the bottom. I'd like to come here more often due to the price and portions but you have to deal with the wait times. At least you can hang out inside First Markham Place until they text you that your table's ready. When you come inside, go to the front and show the waitress your text message. Also when you get the text, they will hold your table for 5 minutes, so get ready to haul your butts when that time comes :V
The 5 stars rating is for the restaurant setting, its menu choice and the taste. We came here on a Monday morning and there is no line to get in. The staffs checked our vaccine records first thing before we are seated. The cafe has 5 booths and 6 tables of 4 with adequate spacing in between. They offer lunch menu at 10 and lite options are available as well. Food tastes good, portion is ok and very reasonable pricing. We all love this cafe very much.
Delicious Hong Kong cafe. Prices were very reasonable and food tasted good. Portions sizes wad pretty good considering price. My favourite are there snacks and sandwiches. Make sure to join the waitlist on Yelp as line gets long. Restaurant isn’t very big so there are limited seats but the service moves fast so line moves at a decent speed.
Tasty, non-regular yet classic Hong Kong style food with decent price A cup of hot milk tea is a must to order here cos : 1 first couple of sips when delivered is for its hotness and aroma of Hong Kong style milk tea; 2 the next half cup is always a great companion for any food served; and 3 the remaining portion is a nice touch for a desert like drink. The scrambled egg with black truffle on toast was not only beautiful but also delicious. Accompanying by a spicy satay beef rice noodle made a nice brunch combo of course with the milk tea is a must . We also tried a fusion/innovative dish mixing the traditional hand-shear chicken with rice rolls. It was good if you enjoy the spicy and rich taste of HK-style street food. Overall, services n food were very good but one also has to expect a bit of wait for the table.
Food was tasty at a good price. HK style cafe and good service. Ingredients were basic but overall food was quite greasy and not the most healthy selection. Not a bad choice if you don’t have to wait in line and are looking for a quick lunch spot.
This place menu lack options for noodles, really only provide instant noodles. There a lot of different sandwiches and other items. I tried the chicken with fries, got the salted egg version, to be honest to oily for me. The milk tea with the sugar cone is pretty good. I can eat the ding ding I believe they called it, tasty sweet. It also help sweeten the drink. The ladies working there are very nice, very busy place when I went last week. Dishes are smaller but it’s very reasonably priced.
Came here at 1:00 got in-line via Yelp wait list was 18th in line and waited for around 40 minutes for a table of 2. Their HK milk tea was the best I’ve ever had and also ordered the milk tea with honeycomb which was okay. Ordered their most popular dishes and they were good of value and tasted good. Not somewhere I would go everyday as their food is very filling and heavy but it’s good for the price and a good place to snack with friends. Restaurant was clean but just wish they had more space for tables to be spread apart more.
Fantastic restaurant. New twists to HK style cafe. Prices are extremely reasonable for the taste and portion size. The fried chicken sandwich on a pineapple bun is massive so make sure you are hungry enough to pack it down. The batter is fairly light and not greasy. The chicken is very moist. The molten salted egg french toast had a very soft texture. I would have preferred a sharper contrast of salty and sweet but it was still very enjoyable. The Ovaltine crunch was a bit on the sweet side for our taste but the taste and crunch texture was a great treat. Very refreshing on a hot day. The HK tea with toffee crunch was a great way to finish the meal. A bit of a long wait so be patient. Other than that, it was a great experience. Excellent service.
I never fancied coming here due to the long wait times but my husband wanted to try so we joined the wait list and ran errands while we waited. Ended up waiting 45 minutes..It’s one of the few hk cafes that have satay tentacles as I’ve never seen that elsewhere. It was pretty good but would I wait 45 minutes or longer to eat it again? No. Also ordered the fried chicken leg with spicy typhoon sauce. The sauce was just Korean gochujang…. They could’ve put that on the menu instead of making it seem like a secret spicy house sauce or something…. Overall the food was good. The fried chicken leg was very hot and crispy but I really don’t care for the gimmicky stuff they have here so I would only come back if I didn’t have to wait long. The service was good too.. we brought our baby and they were very accommodating. Prices are fair but the restaurant is small..
My family and I went on a Sunday morning. The restaurant opens at 10am and my dad was already waiting in his car at 9:15am. We were first in line and around 9:45, the line consisted of 25-30 people already. With the restaurant operating for a few months now, the hype is still here and long lineups are the norm. If you can’t get in, there is a machine at the entrance of the restaurant where you can enter your contact information. Once a table is made ready, you’ll receive a call. Quite frankly, if you’re desperate to try this place out, I would wait in the car and not leave the area. The food and drinks were flipping amazing. What a way to pay homage to HK cuisine! I’m a Hong Konger and I’ve never personally tried the ding ding candy milk tea before. A few items on the menu took me by surprise and I loved it. The molten salty egg toast was SO good, I wanted seconds. The moment I cut into the toast, the liquified egg just poured out. I just recommend you order everything on the menu, there was not one thing that I didn’t like! If you want to try HK food for the first time, perhaps you can order the basket of street and have that as a starter. Service is quick, food came out around 10-15 minutes and my family was in and out of the restaurant in 50 minutes. FYI- Vaccine receipts were checked. Hand sanitizers were made available at each table. At the moment, the restaurant is only taking 50% capacity which means wait time to get a table is even longer than usual.
