Central location which is perfect to get to many places. We had 2 double beds room which is a great size. It included microwave and fridge but no kettle. You can ask for it which I did but it was not clean with crud at the bottom. All it takes is a bit of vinegar and water so no excuse for it to be dirty. Also we had a large bathroom which was nice but not enough hooks to put towels. Other than that, it was a comfortable stay.
I do not recommend. We have spent 4 nights here and I cannot say anything good about it.nnAt first, we were put into a room that was big but super dark, views to the internal courtyard, and the shower had no glass so the bathroom was flooded every time someone used the shower. We asked for a change and they accepted.nnThe second room had better views. However, the quality is just bad. The tiles on the bathroom floor were uneven and moved when walking. The light in the mirror didn’t work. I asked them to fix it. In the evening, they told me it was done - it wasn’t. I called and asked again, they said they would fix it tomorrow. Surprise, they did not.nnMy reservation had breakfast included, so we had breakfast there. Be ready to wait 20min ! for your cappuccino. And they might bring you a caffe latte. We told the waiter we ordered a cappuccino, he said ‘it’s same same but larger’. There is an old 40-50y.o Asian waiter who is the worst. He is super rude and super slow. The food is not great: the oatmeal has no taste, the coffee is burnt and the bacon is ok. The kitchen had the meals ready and they just stayed there for about 15min before being served.nAlso surprise: they charged me for the breakfast even when they told me it was ok it was all included!!!nThe bathtub didn’t work, there were no bubbles at all. The swimming pool area itself is decaying.nnAwful experience, I wonder how they got the 4 stars.
Great place for the core of downtown Montreal. Walkable distance to so many places for both food and tourist spots. Staff was great and rooms were clean. Only thing was it’s weirdly very dim inside of each room. The lighting itself could be better. Other than that, great place.
We mostly stay here when visiting my students. Their apartments are walking distance to this hotel and it makes it very convenient. The staff at the front desk are always amazing for the past 5 years that we have been coming here. I have never encountered any problems or issues with them. Always polite, friendly, professional and respectful. The beds are comfortable. The rooms are clean. What i have been noticing for the past couple of stays is the lotion. The lotion bottle is empty! I am not sure why. I’ve stayed in this hotel lots, and it seems like someone either doesn’t fill up the bottles or I am not sure what the deal is.nI will not complain to the front desk, but it’s been consistently missing. And I really need lotion for my dry skin before bed.
We booked this Hilton Garden Inn specifically because we were excited to use the pool, hot tub, and sauna. Unfortunately, that ended up being the biggest letdown of our stay.nnThe sauna was completely out of order, and despite asking maintenance to look into it, the hot tub was barely warm. At first, we thought maybe it was just us, but another family got in and said the exact same thing. Eventually, we were told that “they change the water over the weekend and that’s why it’s not as hot as it should be,” which isn’t a great explanation when guests are paying to use these amenities.nnAnother major issue was the TV. The TV in our room was very old — no Netflix, no YouTube, no smart features at all. We contacted guest services to see if we could move to another room with a better TV, but were told that all the TVs are the same and only offer basic cable. There isn’t even Wi-Fi functionality to cast from a phone or laptop. It honestly felt like being stuck in the 90s.nnBetween the non-functional hot tub/sauna and the outdated TV, the stay really missed the mark. We couldn’t relax the way we planned, and we couldn’t even watch anything in the room.nnWe went to guest services in person hoping for a refund after only about 1.5 hours of checking in, but that was denied.nnOverall, this was a really disappointing experience, especially given the expectations associated with the Hilton brand.
