Amazing food. The best seafood chowder ever. Breakfast at the table beside us looked really boring and it was 18.00! I wouldn't order it after seeing it. The cheesecake crust was impossible to cut . We had to use a steak knife to saw through it , but it was soo tasty!
We had a very nice lunch here yesterday. Service was good as well. I had the Chicken Club house served with a ceasar salad. Both were delicious!
Got about $60 worth of takeout and had tk throw out most of it. 2 piece fish tasted off, the batter was thick and raw, bland, and the proprtion of fish to batter was 2:1, hardly any fish inside. I fed it to my cat. Jalapeño poppers were also bland and didn't taste like anything, tough in texture. Blue boys wings tasted strangely sweet, neither like hot sauce or blue cheese dip, and the blue cheese dip I got on the side was also weirdly sweet and thin in consistency. The only saving grace was the onion rings I subbed in place of the fries for the fish. They were crispy and seasoned and were sort of edible. This is my third time eating here and it's been disappointing every time. Not worth the money to eat tasteless cardboard frozen foods. The service at the front counter when I picked it up was amazing though. The service was great even though the food wasn't.
After viewing an apartment on Friday last week I came on google Maps to find the nearest pub to the location I was in at the time. Well Christie’s Carriage House Pub was it. I am so glad it did. I went on and was greeted by Amanda who then became my waitress. She’s was fantastic. I was hungry so I decided to have a look at the menu. Since moving to the island the option of wild salmon or Halibut burgers are on nearly all of the menus I’ve seen. I went with the wild salmon burger with a side Caesar salad. All I can say is OMG.What a fantastic meal/ piece of fish/ burger. Not to mention how excellent the staff and Terry the bartender are. So if you’re ever in the neighbourhood or just looking for a great spot to have a few beverages and a great meal do yourself a favour and pop in to Christie’s. Tell them Dino sent you. Cheers
The food is delicious. Especially the seafood chowder. The cheesecake trio has a very rock hard crust but it is so good once you actually get a piece of it
Christie burger was cooked to perfection, well done chef. Toppings were not needed it was so good. The menu was so enticing I came again the next night for dinner. No complaints other than, who knew prime rib is an option after 6:30pm on a Sunday. I’ll need to come back.
Bar and wait staff are super nice. Taking your life in your hands with the food though. For example I couldn’t cut the graham cracker crust on the cheesecake. Actually tried to use a knife. Some of the burgers are gross although my friends say that one of the burgers is good. They served hummus that was just ground up chickpeas without any olive oil. Just a dry paste. The jalapeño poppers were horrible. Apparently the nachos are edible. In short don’t eat there.
Our server was amazing! I don’t know her name , all I know is that she was pregnant and had reddish hair. Super attentive and friendly . Also our food was incredibly good . Calamari was unreal -I love all the veggies that get tossed in with it . I came to Christie’s during Covid and it was mediocre . Tonight’s dining experience was next level - hats off to the entire team . Thanks so much :
My order was barely lukewarm so I asked the server if they had a microwave oven. She said yes and took it away but when she returned with it 5 minutes later it was still lukewarm. I asked her to heat it again. 10 minutes later my dish was returned but still only marginally warmer. Server was very nice however and in their favour they took 50% off the bill. Probably wouldn't go back there.
Went in this week with some friends and although our server was really great, the food and prices were terrible. We shared a few starters and the nachos were maybe the worst I have ever paid money for in my life, we had chips in their fully disintegrated , it was disgusting and for the price of them I was shocked. The only decent tasting thing we had were the wings, which is hard to screw up, but $17.25 for 10 wings should be classified as theft. I’m getting tired of the restaurant industry in this city complaining about losing business when places like this charge what they do and put out an absolute garbage product.
