Fusion cuisine done right. Great taste, fair price, friendly service. Only feedback is that vermicelli seems like a poor option for hot n sour pork noodle soup. The soup already has a powerful taste of hot, sweet, sour, with a kick of cilantro. The lack of taste and texture of vermicelli makes it more suitable towards more bland, neutral taste in my opinion. The flavors did get overwhelming at times.

The best Chinese/Thai soup noodle I've ever had in Vancouver. LOVED it. The waiters are super nice and patient and explained every dish to us. I had the chicken curry soup noodle. The curry soup was very flavorful and not too oily. The portion was huge and I could only eat half. Will definitely go back and try other dishes. The only things I don't like about Fat Mao is that the area (China Town) is sketchy and dirty, and they have a storage shelf right next to customers, which looks pretty bad. But still won't stop me from going back.

Service? Amazing and prompt. Staff? Pleasant and helpful. Establishment? Clean and filled with super cute cat drawings. Food? Beautiful, well seasoned, perfectly spicy, cooked well, and plenty of options. Cost? Reasonable. Definitely had worse food for more money.

Amazing! The aromas that hit you on the way in MMMMMmm! I'm hooked and can't wait to go back to try everything on the menu. These people clearly care for what they are doing. The authenticity and attention to detail resulted in a bowl of noodles that transported me back to my trip to Thailand, made me want to run back! This is a little gem and it's casual, affordable food with a fine dining quality. Also got sat with Trevor Bird from Top Chef Canada, (thanks for the accounting advice :p) who was clearly a regular and YOU SHOULD BE TOO.

This place is amazing! I would definitely recommend the Hot and Sour soup noodle with vermicelli for anyone who likes a hot, tangy, hearty soup. The vegetarian options however, are existent but don’t offer a wide variety. My friend had the Thai Mushroom soup and it wasn’t too bad but the sourness of the soup broth is a little questionable as you would assume a creamy soup wouldn’t be. I could see how it could definitely appeal to someone but it wasn’t for us! Overall, I was happy with my own bowl and I’d recommend this place to those who love noodles as well!
