The Union

Chef, Lisa Henderson has created a Southeast Asian inspired menu, while head bartender, Kristi-Leigh Akister uses the regions ingredients, sourced from neighbouring Chinatown, to create her cocktails.

The first time we were here was in the morning and some of the items wasn't available until 4pm. So we came back for dinner and the place was pretty much packed. The food arrived very quickly and was very delicious. Some were a tad too salty but overall they had great flavours. The cocktails were interesting and creative. I wish they had a little bit more variety in the beer and not mostly main street brewing.

Pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. From the name of the restaurant and looking from the outside we did not guess that many of the current menu offerings were Asian fusion. Everything was simple but done well. The curry was rich and flavorful. Service was friendly and down to earth. Lots of vegetarian options as well.

Good food, great flavors. On the pricier side. Would have given 4 stars if not for the noise level; it's difficult to talk to anyone other than the 2 people beside you.

You'll sit comfortable at communal tables in this modern restaurant with South Asian flavours and a stellar cocktail list. Happy hour is 5 til 6:30 daily except Sundays when it's all day. Try the milk of the wolf cocktail and the mussels.

Loved the place, love the share tables and the beer selection. Food was delicious so much effort put into the great menu. Very fair prices.
