Story

Bookers has been around since 1998 when it was first conceived by Lance and Bruce. They wanted a restaurant lounge that celebrated southern cooking, bbq and seafood, something Calgary didn't have yet. Mardi Gras was a big part of Bookers and was celebrated with crab races (you can still see the racing circle on the floor near the new bar), and plenty of beads and masks.

I went around lunch time, it was pretty empty so that was good. We were greeted quickly and served drinks. The Mac and cheese was bland, but the brisket was delicious, the sauce was a little too sweet though. The sausage was good and the deep fried pickles were delicious. Crab cakes were forgettable. I tried all the sauces and my favorite was the maple bourbon.
This was a good place to have a nice lunch, give it a try!

Attended conference in Calgary with 8 colleagues who had never been to Booker's.  I hadn't been there in almost a decade but remember it to be awesome "comfort" BBQ food.  We were not disappointed.  The "burnt brisket ends" appetizer was fantastic, as were the two different BBQ platters we ordered.  Lots of food.  Great sauces.  Good service.

Excellent spot for lunch or dinner! The space is large, which is great for accommodating large groups. We have shown up with 10+ people over the lunch hour multiple times and have always been seated and taken care of promptly! They are also great at keeping separate bills for the group, if you let them know when you arrive. Food is delicious, consistent and timely :)

Great atmosphere! Really good BBQ! I had the BBQ Plate with Brisket and Ribs, corn bread and gumbo as sides with a shared starter of smoked chicken wings. It was pretty damn good! I would say Booker's is right there for some of the best BBQ in Calgary. I will definitely go back for more!

What an amazing experience! The service was amazing and the food was so delicious! I am fully impressed with the experience we had here. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a great meal, awesome music and fabulous service! We will be returning!
