The Keg

Jacob was the best server, very polite and informative. Very attentive to our table. Prime rib was superb, great wine selection and cold beer. Great table near the fire as well. I'm told the desert is very good . We will ask for Jacob on our next visit.

The service was excellent. The fellow was very welcoming and friendly. The appetizers were OK. But we all had well over cooked meals. Like, what one might have in a retirement home. We gently raised this with the server and the manager returned to apologize. I think that she handled it quite well. Unfortunately, there are back end problems here. So overall, nothing special. We spent $145 plus a tip for four people. They were very kind and covered one of our wine bottles. But seriously, if you don't enjoy the food after two bottles of wine, something's not going well. Disappointing overall. I think the server was even disappointed, I get the impression that this is a pattern.

DELICIOUS! Needs the caps lock because it's that tasty. And warm inside on this -26°C + wind chill night. Great service too!

Amazing food and amazing service, we had a reservation for 7pm and was seated as soon as we got there. The food after being ordered did not take long at all, the main came out right after the salads were finished and the mains we had were the best we have ever had. Awesome job staff and keep it up!!

One full star removed from this review because of the lighting. Seriously. It's offensively dark in this place. I don't know what sort of ambience they're going for, but it's unsettling. I actually felt like asking our server if they could turn the lights up a bit. Anyway, I had a steak salad and it was really, really good. The prices here are too high for what you get, though. This place wants to compete with Earl's and Joey's, but it doesn't. Its quality is a notch lower, its ambience is several notches lower, and its pricing is right on par. The Keg needs to up its game to compete.
