The food is so good! But it is somewhat difficult to communicate with some of the servers if you are not well versed in Mandarin or Cantonese - but they try their best and are very kind. Also that lemon tea was hitting
Quick service, descent price, and tastes good. Their creamy soup is back too! I’ve ordered from them via UberEats many times for their breakfast specials that includes drinks, and finally got to dine in this evening to tryout their dinner. Consistent quality!
1st time here and it'll be among my list of go-to HK cafes for some good food. Located in the Peachtree plaza, Blue Ocean Cafe serves up traditional HK Cafe dishes and set meals. The ambiance is bustling and can be busy during weekend breakfast/ brunch. Their menu selection is great and their prices are reasonable, average $8-$12 per person. I had their Gui Lin noodles and jen had their Portuguese chicken which were both great. Portion is good and overall recommend this place
Breakfast combo- tried the beef brisket noodles and come with a drink. I choose the Hk style milk tea which is very good. Price is reasonable and the beef brisket soup is tasty, but probably too early to order this beef brisket a bit hard to chew. Over good experience.
Borscht is authentic Hong Kong style with strong tomato and plenty of veggie. The iced lemon team is also authentic Hong Kong style. The hot plate Sirloin is cooked with medium and also authentic “Boston” or “Garden” Hong Kong style. Please remind to cook the steak to medium or medium rare. The hot plate is really hot. The steak on hot plate is continuously cooking after serving on the table.
EDIT: Recently dropped by for dinner and got the Malaysian curry chicken chop rice. the curry was very salty though very aromatic, and the chicken steak was hard and overcooked with a hard and stringy texture. service remains quick and efficient but the Malay curry was one of their hallmark dishes which now misses the mark. **** Solid HK cafe serving up all the classics. They're quite busy but the table turnover is fairly quick. They have a small outdoor seating in a parking lot patio and all the tables looked well distanced. They're also having you fill out a small paper for contact tracing purposes. However, my table could look into the kitchen and I saw at least 2 people in there with their masks pulled down below their nose or chin. The food came out hot and fresh. Their satay beef is better than a lot of HK cafes: you can actually taste sacha sauce and isn't too goopy. Portions are very fair and prices are reasonable.
We order take out from them sometimes. They have a great selection of combos for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. The food quality and price is reasonable. Recently they have increased in their price but they offer you 10% discount if you pay by cash. They reopened for patio dining. The seating area was quite decent. They have 3 tables inside a tent and few small tables along the sidewalk in front of their restaurant. It was setup in a good social distance manner. Even if you go for patio dining there, the food was packed in clean take out containers. We finally visited Blue Ocean Cafe after they reopened for dine in service. The food quality was good & consistent. However, the service can be improved. It’s been a while since we had dine in breakfast at Blue Ocean Cafe. They are one of the cafes that open so early in the neighbourhood. This cafe is a good choice if you want to have Hong Kong Style food. Their Breakfast Combo and Stir-Fried Noodle/ Rice Lunch Combo are affordable and tasty. Recently, we came here with our visitors from USA to have afternoon tea sets. They were craving for some Hong Kong style cafe food. The restaurant was very crowded and the seating were very tight. The food was good but I must say that their service need to have some improvements. Most of the staff were ok but one lady was awful. She was rude and very impatient with elderly customers. Hopefully they can have better customer service when I revisit next time.
Quick stop for a bite here. Traditional HK style menu items from breakfast to daily mainstays. Priced decent.Food: 4/5
One of the best Hong Kong cafés in Markham. Their cream of mushroom soup is the best and only available on Fridays and the weekend.
Be careful with the hainanese chicken rice dish here. Ordered through ubereats. Ate one piece and thought it was a little too chewy for chicken. Dug through the rest of the chicken and found VERY raw chicken. Not safe to be eaten at all.
