Big Beef Bowl Hand-Pulled Noodle

Big Beef Bowl is a spot folks hit up for affordable Lanzhou hand-pulled noodles. We went with the flow to check it out. Sometimes it’s a success, other times it can be a miss. Sadly this time it was the latter result. We were immediately seated in the spacious restaurant. The chefs were busy pounding & stretching out the latest noodle pulls. It took a while to notice we were ready to order. Our large order of Classic Beef arrived in a huge bowl with our choice of flat noodles. It was topped by plenty of parsley but only a few thin slices of beef & radish. Beef was bland but more importantly, the broth was not up to par with our recent Lanzhou noodles elsewhere. Our other bowl with Braised Beef Brisket was similar but with round noodles. The darker broth was a little spicier, however we weren’t impressed by its depth. Sure hope Bruce Lee isn’t frowning from those wall frames!

Large bowls of noodles served at this location for reasonable prices. Flavour is good and soup has a nice clean flavour. Kitchen has an open window that let's you see them pull the noodles. There are also a few variation of noodle sizes to choose from. Restaurant is relatively clean and bright. Service is good and attentive. Parking: A lot of parking in this plaza

When you walk into Big Beef Bowl it feels like you’ve walked right into a noodle shop in Kowloon City! The decor is very simple love the Bruce Lee art! but the food is the star. The customer service was excellent- very warm and welcoming. The classic beef noodle is delicious. The hand pulled noodles are fresh and come in 3 sizes. My husband ordered a clay pot rice dish- chicken and mushroom with a home made XO sauce. I don’t think you could get better! They also sell their own chili sauce- which we couldn’t get enough of. We got the pickled veggie and braised beef bowl, both were yummy. I liked the soup base and texture of their hand-pulled noodles I've had both around and flat ones. They give lots of noodles and I thought my small bowl was a large! The bread sticks were so fresh, was going to try to fritters as well but too full by the end. The menu price is so reasonable here.

Well done. Great place to eat noodles. Cold chicken was good, pan friend soup dumpling taste a bit sweet side, but overall really good. Would definitely recommend for a good big bowl of noodles.Food: 4/5

Nice little noodle restaurant in Markham. One chef in the kitchen making hand pull noodle all the time. Noodle cooked perfectly and soup is tasty without msg. Recommended if you are around the area.

We were craving for beef noodle soup so, we came to this restaurant to try out their famous hand-pulled noodle with beef brisket in soup. They were super busy during lunch time on Victoria Day holiday but we got a table right away. The food was quite good while the service was just ok. Maybe they were short of staff. My favourite dish was their Shanghai Pan Fried Bao. It was very juicy inside. The portion of their small size noodle soup was very reasonable. The texture of their hand-pulled regular flat noodle was very stuffed. The price was affordable in general. You can also order food from the menu of the restaurant next door called West Gate. They have the same owner. West Gate serve congee, rice rolls and clay pot rice etc. We look forward to go back and try these another time. We went back on a weekday when they were last busy. The service was better. This time we tried another hand-pulled noodle. We ordered the Classic Beef with regular round noodle, Complicated Cow with regular round noodle and Beef with Pickled Mustard with regular round noodle. They were very yummy.

The first bite of the noodle was not a good experience. The bowl of noodles tasted hard and undercooked. Also, there wasn't much beef in the bowl only three pieces of beef and the rest were skin not sure the exact term. The fried dumpling taste good though.

Interesting menu - has a variety of food - from noodles to clay pot rice to Chinese street food style snacks. Price is OK. Service is good. The potstickers are hot and juicy. Oh, the clay pot rice takes about 20 mins, so be prepare for that if that's what you want.

One of my favourite spots in Markham for hand pulled noodles - Big Beef Noodle is a family owned restaurant that I highly recommend. Even when its hot or cold, something about their soup noodles always hits the spot! Usually we're fairly lucky to be able to grab a seat quickly during common lunch hour, but I can gurantee that although they have plenty seats available, Big Beef Bowl always fills up fast with families, couples, friends etc. Their menu consists of the classic noodle dishes you can choose from, as well as the noodle style youd like. They also have many asian appetizers/snacks, clay pot rice, rice rolls and Shanghai fried buns! I always opt for the Spicy Braised Beef noodles, and if youre worried about the spice hiting you, it's honestly mild to me LOL. There's homemade chilli sauce on the sauce if youd like to add more kick. The Shanghai Fried Buns are delicious as well, but I would definitely wish it had abit more juice as sometimes they're abit soup less in comparison to many I've had. Overall the service, and food is quick, satisfying and perfect if youre on the go. They take card and cash! IG: Ayenomz
