So went to Toronto this weekend and we found this place “Annalakshmi” exceptionally satisfactory. The interior attracts people through the glass windows, it is a vibrant place with Indian aesthetics. We ordered sambhar vada and green chilli masala dosa extremely spicy just like the staff mentioned along with masala tea and Madras coffee. Our meal was wholesome and flavourful. The only thing which I detested was the use of plastic plates/ trays. The White Thalis in which they served the dosa were neither authentic nor pleasant. They should use steel utensils just like they serve coffee and tea in steel utensils. Moreover, the White plastic plates were not even cleaned properly, they seemed old and worn off. Overall, my experience was great and I enjoyed my meal. Vegetarian options: Great place for vegetarians!
South Indian eatery in downtown Toronto. This time, I had the Annalaxmi Thaali. It came with 7 condiments, poori, papad, curd and pickle. And a big bowl of rice. Also, dessert = a gulab jamun. It was delicious. Next time I will get half to go. I absolutely recommend it I have also has their Chili Garlic Masala Dosa. Spicy and tasty. i love their Masala Tea. They have Filter Coffee as well. I have had their Cilantro Dosa, which was okay. Not what I thought. They have plenty of seating space. Service is friendly. Good place to catch up with friends.
Authentic South Indian restaurant just right at heart of Downtown Toronto. They’ve variety of Dosa and other items to order. Especially you can try their Tiffin menu which has good options for lunches and dinner. We order Mysore Masala Dosa, Rava Masala Dosa, 14 pcs Podi Idly and a Mango shake oh you’ll need to try this. All the signature dishes are upto the mark with reasonable pricing options. We went on Labor Day and not sure their AC was not working or they didn’t turn it on. It was heat warning and was 32 degrees that day. It was the only downside.
Best authentic South Indian food I had outside of India so far. Must try their filter coffee and any curd base drink. Service is a bit slow but it’s expected as they’re always full during their rush hours. They’re authentic and pure, unlike other places that use frozen food, so you might wanna wait a bit longer about 15-20 minutes just like we do at other dine-in places.
The food is great and tastes very good. The Ambient of the restaurant is nice. But the wait time for food is pretty long. Kinda kills your appetite with the wait between your dishes. I would recommend to go before lunch time or be ready to have a waiting period to dine as well on the top of waiting time for food. Overall, not a bad restaurant but could be great if they can work on their service part.
I love south indian food and tried quite a few restaurants here in GTA, and guys this one is one of my favourites. They have authentic south indian food. Today I tried their Onion pakora, I was expecting Maharashtra style kanda bhaji but they gave it like a batata bhaji except onion slice in it. Trust me it was really good, Can’t imagine that slice of onion wrapped in a chick piece flower will taste that good. I also love their puri with chana and potato curry too. It’s not too oily and really lightweight. Not to forget their rates are quite economical
They were so damn amazing and probably the best South Indian food I have tried outside of India so far. Even though I live in America, this one blew me away. The food is so authentic, fresh and well made - the dosa was fantastic and crispy and huge, and the vada and idly were fresh. Loved the madras style coffee! Can’t recommend this though. Absolutely give it a try if you are in Toronto. The service was super fast the serving sizes for the price is a steal.
Finally came here and I’m SO glad! First off, amazing service from the moment we walked in. Second, we get seated and served so fast and got the enjoy the beautiful decor and buzz of the crowd. Finally, the food was OUTSTANDING! The spring masala dosa was so flavourful and the green chilli dosa was a spicy 10/10! THANK YOU, and we can’t wait to visit again
They say that the secret to perfect Indian desserts lies in the dedication to quality ingredients, meticulous techniques, and an unwavering passion for the culinary arts. Mastering these 3 qualities, Annalakshmi Toronto 277 Wellington St W Unit 100b, Toronto, ON M5V 3E4 serves the perfect collection of Indian desserts! Known for its vibrant setting in the heart of Downtown, Annalakshmi is the perfect restaurant for when you miss home a little too much. We tried the rava kesari and the rasmalai during our last visit. Soft, luscious, and sweet, the rava kesari was the perfect indulgent treat - with a bright orange hue, the dish was made even better with the fragrant cardamom and dry fruits. The rasmalai was even better - creamy, aromatic, and soft, each bite seemed to melt in our mouths, leaving an incredible aftertaste! If you're longing for authentic and delectable Indian desserts, Annalakshmi is undoubtedly the place to satisfy your cravings - the exceptional food and bright decor will ensure that you have a great dining experience. Warmly recommended! To hear about this review, follow us @eatinontario on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
Went here for lunch and it quickly got very busy and packed - just goes to show you what a great place this is for authentic south indian food. Their pav bhaji dosa with cheese and chili paneer were favourites amongst the group. Can't wait to dine here again. Vegetarian options: Entirely vegetarian!
