Allencourt Family Restaurant Fish & Chips

Don't miss this restaurant if you visit the plaza. I have a Cod & Greek for lunch. The Greek salad is great and fresh. The olive tastes good surprisingly. Its scent is delightful. The cod's meat also tastes good. The flour layer is not too thick or oily. This offers distinct layers of texture from crispy surface to soft cod meat. Next time my pleasure to try their breakfast, which seems to be attractive and worthy for money. The attendant is super friendly. The place is also very clean.

Tugged away at the corner of the mall. At first glance, you may think you traveled back to the 80s, suggested by the decore. But don't turn away because of that. Cozy place with friendly waitress not sure why others have bad experiences with the service. We always go on Sunday mornings... and never had any issue. Great fish and chips. Batter done just right, very crispy and not heavy, with fish that is moist inside. Piping hot when arrived at the table. We always ordered another one with salad as 2 sides of chips always turned out to be too much for us. Check out the special menu on the chalk board at the far end! We had the cinnamon French toast this time. My husband thinks it's very good, while I think it could use a bit more cinnamon. Hidden gem in RH. Great value. So far we like everything we tried, except the tea and the prepackaged tartar but then again, that's minor and very understandable given what the restaurant's focus is and the price point. Will go back again.

I have been going her since I was 15. I am now 51. The food is amazing; the owner is attentive and the breakfast is amazing. And the fish & chips…wow.

It’s a classic cozy place, not very fancy restaurant. I’ve been passing by this plaza everyday on the way home and always smell the aroma of the deep fried; that’s how got me interested to come in and try it on a day off. I ordered the Fish and Onion Ring, the fish and onion ring were thick cut, the batter was very crispy, and the fish is very fresh!!! I will comeback for sure. There are also some family all day breakfast menu as well if you are not a fish and chips fans.

What a great meal. Service was friendly fast and the restaurant was clean. Fish was cooked perfect, salad was fresh. I didn’t order fries because I saw another review saying it’s cavendish and I can eat them at home. Plus I’m supposed to be on a diet lol. Little place hidden away in the corner that can cook fish the right way is such a nice treat to find. They have great breakfast specials too. I will have to come back and review that too. Not even worthy of 1 star. Rude employees, rude and drunk owner. Prices are ridiculous. Absolutely NO customer service. I was once a loyal diner but my last two experiences have been disastrous. So sad.

Have been going here for over 20 years. Staff is friendly. Food is good and consistent. Peameal on Kaiser is my favourite. Husband loves their omelettes with rye toast. Fries and home fries are always great.
