Wow..this place. I went for a loaf and added a baguette, cinnamon buns omg and the smoked cheese pretzel. Can I take a minute and admire the crust on that pretzel? I don't even know what magic made this possible thank you bakers!. The cinnamon bun is so moist and sticky, I was hoping it wouldn't be too bready because its large but it is true perfection. I forgot to ask for my oatmeal cookie latte to be half sweet but it was the perfect sweetness. I could go on, I have yet to eat the baguette and loaf I am excited : There are an assortment of cheeses and pâté's, jams and pickles very parisian. oh, and the staff are warm and lovely. The line you will likely endure is worth the wait!
Damn this place is seriously good. I go at least once a week now. Everything is delicious but my favourites are the olive bread, with abundant olives, and basque cheesecake. The cinnamon rolls are fluffy yet scrumptious. Their breakfast sammiches and grilled cheeses are also delicious. Found them out after trying their goodies as part of a fundraiser this summer, so they also support the community. Highly recommended.
Extremely high quality goods FRESHLY BAKED EACH DAY. I had the chance to try a few loaves from Working Culture Bread in 2021... fast forward to now, April 2022. They have installed a NEW bread machine and the bread is even BETTER in EVERY way!!! They said they were raising prices, but somehow it seems the prices come to a lower total than before?! Photo from today of the Cinnamon Raisin loaf
I went for a coffee and ended up with a cardamom oat beverage that was amazing! The fridge was stocked with the most wonderful selection of Québécois fromage and I carefully read each description before finally selecting one to try. The prices seemed quite reasonable considering the amount of work that’s gone into the process.
Every time I visit Victoria, I pop into Working Culture Bread! It’s even dad approved and my dad is insanely picky. He now goes once or twice a week They have the BEST cookies, cinnamon buns and pretzels. The oatmeal cookie latte is also the best thing I’ve ever had. Amazing staff, amazing baked goods… best spot in Victoria hands down. The owners, Jessica and Adam, are so nice too!! Support your local bakers!!
Excellent vegan breakfast sandwich, maybe the best I’ve had! Delicious smoky tofu bacon, the crispy fried onions, yum!!!
Was told about this little place and stopped in for a look… left with $50 bucks worth of goodies. First up was the ginger cream cheese roll, very good, nice moist ginger cake and sweet cream cheese filling. Bought some marmalade, small jar for $10, pricey, honestly it’s nothing special, but just oranges and sugar so nice simple ingredients. Also got a loaf of bread, I think just the white loaf, it was nice -made good toast. The stars of our purchase were the chocolate chip cookies These were amazing! the most delicious chocolate chip cookies I’ve had, in fact I am still thinking about them! Overall I think it’s expensive, but if you want to splurge then good place to do it. I would go back for those cookies every time! I did feel the counter person was playing up the hip attitude a little much, I live in Vancouver so I’m over it. When I am dropping $50 bucks on a few bakery items you could try to be a tinny bit less bothered serving me!! But having gone to a few of these smaller bakeries I think they think it goes with the territory!
Both Cheese Pretzel and vegan Pretzel are amazing ! I can’t wait to try the pumpkin danish and the pizza danish and of course the Cinnamon Buns !!! Looks at how gooey it is! I will come back to Victoria just for this bakery for sure!!
Fabulous! Super friendly staff and an amazing selection of vegan items. We will be back, thank you!
Delicious baked goods, sandwiches, coffee and bread! Their cinnamon buns are the best in the city and my favourite loaf is the chocolate sourdough. Every single thing I’ve tried has been delicious, the ingredients are always so fresh and I love that there is always something new. Not to mention that the staff are so kind and friendly! I could not recommend working culture more highly
