William O'Brien State Park

The park offers a nice combination of prairie and forest. There are several hiking trails available connected together which allows you to extend your walk as much as you want. When we went we saw different wild flowers, birds, a snake, a frog, and a bunny! There is a pond with beaver but they say the best time to see them is near sunrise or sunset. We saw their nest but didn't see them. I recommend to visit the visitor center. They have a nice exhibition of the different animals you can see around.

This is one of my favorite state parks. The trails right next to the water (that you don't have to hike to get to), lots of benches to rest my weary legs, fishing, boating, camping, dump station, a very nice and kid friendly interpitive center, awesome staff (really I've never meet a park ranger that wasn't nice), and really cool activities for everyone.

It's a cute little park. We went for fall color hike. Nice hike though fall color was good, not outstanding. I guess it was almost past peak.

A really nice park. Close to the cities which brings in more people. But still nice and totally worth it.

Beautiful park. We camped at a walk in site and they had nice big carts available to haul our supplies from car to site. The park was full that weekend and the outhouse was really ripe and garbage overflowing the dumpsters, but luckily our site wasn't near enough to be affected.
