My family stayed at the Villas. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. My only complaint is they need add more things to cook with like baking dish, pots and a crockpot. Also need to stock some coffee cups.nThe water parks and facilities were really clean and well maintained. The resort was decorated beautifully. My only complaint was the staff. Most never smiled or even greeted you with a hello. There were a couple of young men on the rock climbing facility who were friendly. The girls working in the Kids Club never smiled or even interacted with kids while they made pictures, bracelets and magnets. Overall the staff seemed like they didn’t like their jobs. They could use some classes in customer service hospitality.
We had a great time at Wilderness resort! Spent 2 weekend days there in August. Crowds were manageable and spread out across the multiple indoor and outdoor parks. The staff was very friendly, respectful, responsible, and helpful. The amenities were nice. Rooms were clean. Only nitpicks are the beds were a little hard and the bathroom soaps were tiny bottles instead of more modern wall-mounted dispensers. We were very impressed by the quality and attention to detail at Wilderness resort!
We recently visited Wilderness Waterpark with our three young kids all under 9, with the youngest nearly 3, and we had a great time! It was our first time staying here, and overall, it was a very family-friendly experience with plenty to do for kids of all ages.nnWe stayed in one of the condo-style rooms, which worked out perfectly for our family. It gave us the space we needed, plus the convenience of having a kitchen and separate sleeping areas, definitely a good option for larger families or longer stays.nnThe waterparks themselves were a big hit! There are multiple waterpark areas spread throughout the resort. Some are just a short walk away, while others require a bit more effort to reach sometimes involving long hallways or crossing a sky bridge. I’d recommend bringing a stroller or wagon if you have younger kids or need to carry a lot with you. One downside we noticed was the lack of easily accessible elevators in certain areas. Some hallways were pretty narrow, and not all doors had handicap-accessible buttons.nnWhen we visited, the outdoor waterpark was also open, and although the entire resort was busy, it never felt too overwhelming. Everyone was pretty spread out across the different waterpark areas. Our favorite was definitely the Wild West waterpark, it had a great variety of attractions and was especially fun for the kids. We loved the dueling mat slides the best!nnBeyond the waterparks, there’s a lot more to do at Wilderness. We had a blast at the huge indoor soft play area for kids 12 and under, tried the high ropes course, and had fun with laser tag. We didn’t get around to the go-karts or zip line, but they looked like a lot of fun, too! One thing to note: the arcade was expensive, so keep that in mind if your kids are arcade fans.nnOverall, Wilderness Waterpark was a great getaway for our family. There’s so much to do, and our kids were entertained the entire time.
This is our second time visiting the wilderness resort, and it’s always a fun experience for our family of four. My children especially love the indoor water park with the wave pool, their favorite. The resort is clean, as is our room and the common areas. One feature I appreciate is the laundry room on each floor, which allows us to wash clothes and bring home clean laundry! My children also enjoyed the mini golf, go karts, laser tag, and the arcade game by the Wild West waterpark, not the one by the main entrance.nnThe only feedback I have is that I would prefer our room to be cleaned every day instead of having to call for service. Additionally, some of the equipment in the water park needs to be replaced or repaired. Otherwise, it’s a great place for both young and older children!
Edit: I have photos of all the discrepancies but I do not have an option to upload. I was very disappointed with our recent stay at Wilderness Resort. Upon arriving and inspecting our room, I found multiple cleanliness issues that were simply unacceptable—old food items on the floor, hairs and stains in the bed sheets, and even mouse droppings in the pull-out couch bed. The fridge was dirty, the room had a strong moldy or smoky odor, and the AC unit appeared to have visible mold inside.nnWe tried dining at Survivors Bar & Grill and were underwhelmed. The food was overpriced and mediocre, and the atmosphere was uncomfortable with many shirtless guests inside the restaurant.nnQuiet hours were not enforced at all. Children were loudly running through the hallways as late as 11 p.m., and there were numerous intoxicated adults who were not supervising their children. I personally had to help rescue two unsupervised kids from the water—even with lifeguards present, they didn’t seem to notice the situation.nnOn the positive side, the resort does offer a lot of activities, and we were never bored. The Starbucks inside the resort was excellent and ended up being the only food and beverage location we truly enjoyed.nnUltimately, I’m giving this stay two stars: one for the variety of things to do, and one for the great Starbucks experience. However, the cleanliness of the room and the overall lack of enforcement of basic rules and supervision left a lot to be desired—especially considering the price. If the resort can address these serious issues, I would consider returning in the future.
