Wicker Emporium

I recently purchased a cabinet at the heartland store and upon picking it up it did not fit in my car. The area manager (i forget her name but I'll update this post once I remember) offered to drop it off at my house using her personal vehicle at no extra cost. That to me is above and beyond customer service. I truly appreciate it. Btw, the cabinet is excellent quality.

Called this location to make sure they had the item we wanted in stock before driving an hour to pick it up. Buffy was very informative and knew the product well. She helped us out when we arrived at the store and we were able to pick up our order with no issues. Checkout line was long given it was a special promotion weekend, but the other staff didn't really seem to know what they were doing. The checkout space should really be better utilized, the register is tucked behind a tight corner and only one till was being used despite there being two.

We paid the previous day for a mango shelf (floor model) that we found out was damaged when loading it into the car (It had a strip of wood missing from underneath it. Upon closer inspection the back of the shelf has been filled in with some other wood other than mango wood (Though this was realized when we took it home). We notified the person on duty who asked if we would be ok with a 10% discount. However the manager whom was on the phone refused and said we can drive to Oakville to pick up another floor model or wait 2 months for one to come in if they had any in stock. The manager named Buffy was absolutely rude and dint' have the customers interest at heart. She said because it is at the back it is not significant. The customer service is absolutely atrocious. It would be nice if they were honest and said this is what's wrong with it and now it is up to you if you still want to buy it. No customer should happen to stumble upon a defect and be told take it or have nothing else done.

I should have done more research before I purchased the wingback accent chair. The ad said it was made of solid wood. I was mesmerized by the discount, 70% off. The chair was originally $1,000. Not sure who would buy it at that price. The fabric and wood was very poor quality. I'm not totally disappointed, I only did pay $300 for the chair after all. But it seems like much less of a deal than I originally thought. Feels like I paid full price for a cheap product. The rep at the heartland location had some kind of personality, unreal. Like she thought she was some kind of aristocrat, if there were different kinds. Nose up in the air, flicking the wrist. She attempted to say my last name, and hyphenated it with "whatever". Ms Agh-"whatever" lol, while rolling her eyes. I give this a 2 only because she amused me a little, but I can image someone else feeling insulted by her demeanour.

Love this store. Solid wood at a decent price. And they have sales often.
