My boyfriends mom came into town for the night on her business trip to VI and wanted sushi for dinner. We have been wanting to try this place out and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious and we will be going back very soon! It was a wee bit pricey for a few items but nonetheless it was delicious and worth it.Food: 5/5
Nice seating and good service! The food was just OK. The yakisoba was not great, I probably wouldn’t recommend it. The salad was yummy though! I didn’t have a chance to try the sushi but when I looked on other tables it looked good hahah It is expensive for the quality though, I Would recommend trying their lunch special for better value.
Always great service. Fast. Clean. Very affordable. Teriyaki can’t be beat! Also consistent and fresh. We are repeating offenders.
Very tasty! The service was super friendly and the good came out super quick. Great pricing and a lovely location
Tried the Spicy Salmon Lunch combo today. I can't say I was impressed. The included tempura was undercooked. I could tasted the uncooked batter in the broccoli and the yam was nearly raw. The avocados in my california roll were starting to brown, making me question the freshness. As for the spicy salmon roll, well it was spicy. It was perhaps the spiciest salmon roll I've ever had, and that's about all, there was no flavour to the sauce, just heat. The miso soup seems a touch on the bland side as well and lacks the usual seaweed and green onion I'm used to seeing. All in all, based on this experience, I wouldn't return. I won't go so far as to say it's bad...but there was nothing that left me saying I want more from here. There are lots of great sushi places around, try another.
Presentation was amazing!! Looked great tasted pretty good too! Favourite roll was the dragonfly roll. Sashimi was good and so was the unagi nigiri. Really good service at the beginnings but by the end they kinda forgot about us lol
Very bad experience!!! Zero stars!!! Please check your food prep daily!!! My boyfriend and I ordered on SkipTheDishes, one cali roll one dynamite and one Negitoro roll plus yam tempura and shrimp tempura. Yam was under cooked, it was crunchy inside. Tempura sauce was weird. The crab salad in both of the dynamite roll and California roll is spoiled. Please taste your prep before you serve the food! Very angry and hungry after we spend 64 dollars on what?? We had to threw away more than half of the food and that was just not acceptable. Waste of food and money.
One of our favourite sushi restaurants! The sushi is excellent and loved by parents and kids all around. Attentive and friendly service. Nice atmosphere.Recommended dishesDynamite Roll
I've had better Japanese food in Victoria. The prawn tempura had little flavour. I've had better at the food fair in a mall. The steak sauce is a different version than what is served in most Japanese restaurants in town. I was warned that instead of being salty, it was sweet. Well, one taste and I spit it out. There is an extra charge for the steak sauce. The pork Katsu with Katsu sauce was okay and so was the salad. The mauve rice tastes like steamed rice so that was fine. There was fried veggies under the pork. In my opinion, they weren't necessary. My final bill came to $29 and change. This might be a reasonable price. My husband as I usually order several appetizers and pork Katsu at the usual Japanese restaurant we go to. The bill comes to the same amount but has fed two people. Having said all that, the restaurant was full at 7 in the evening. It might be because it is one of two Japanese restaurants in this area of town or I'm way off base in my food opinions. The service was quick and excellent. The ambience is lovely. Plenty of free parking too.
Good ambient. Could have been a great place for a date. I am writing this review after one order, so I hope my observations about the food is only a one off. First, some of the sushi rice are not cooked - they are still hard! Second, the nigiri fell apart when I picked them up - suggesting they were not packed with the right pressure. Third, the sashimi was not cold enough. I preferred a hint of ice crystals in my raw fish. I hope these aspects will improve when I visit next.
