DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL — TERRIBLE EXPERIENCEnnOur hockey team stayed here for a tournament, and our manager booked this hotel. As soon as we walked in, we were disappointed. The lobby didn’t smell too bad, but the hallways were horrible. The smell was so strong that we were actually gagging while walking to our rooms.nnWhen we got to our room, things didn’t get any better. The door looked like someone had tried to break in before, with scratches and marks around the lock. Inside, the room felt cheap and uncomfortable. The bed is made out of some material that makes an extremely loud noise every time you sit or move on it. It honestly sounded like an explosion every time someone touched it.nnThe noise situation in the hotel is also awful. The walls are so thin that you can hear people talking clearly in the room right next to you, even when they’re not being loud. The elevators smelled terrible too, and some of the lights inside them didn’t even work, which made it feel unsafe.nnI honestly don’t understand how this place is rated as a 2-star hotel. It should be a 1-star, which is the lowest rating you can get. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. If you see it while traveling, just keep going and do not stop here.
The rooms were average. We had two double beds would have preferred two queens but that wasn't available and we survived lol there was a pool but we didnt use it as we were only there for two nights. The only complaint I could have was the parking lot wasn't plowed but it wasn't a big problem. I would stay here again if I was in the area!
This place smells. They try to keep it clean, but it is just a dirty place no matter what you do or how much effort they put in. The carpets need to be changed or better yet the entire place needs to be torn down. Never again. Save yourself the experience and do not stay here.
I booked this stay through Booking.com and arrived with my two daughters. At first glance, the hotel appeared fairly standard and mid-tier. Nothing special, but acceptable for what I needed.nAfter checking in and unloading, we went to the pool. This is where concerns first started. The stairs leading into the pool were extremely slick and hazardous. I had to caution my children repeatedly to be careful getting in and out and made sure they showered immediately after using the pool due to safety concerns. Needless to say the kids refused to use the pool again. A big part of why we booked this hotel was for the pool.nLater, while my children stayed in the room, I walked around the hotel to familiarize myself with the property. On the third floor, I noticed several guest room doors propped open, accompanied by a very strong and unpleasant odor. It became clear that some individuals were living at the hotel on a long-term basis. While long-term accommodations are not inherently an issue, having multiple guest room doors propped open is a serious fire code violation, as these are fire-rated doors. The smell and overall condition of the hallway were extremely discouraging. Garbage scattered throughout the hallway, and old dingy carpet.nBack in the room, I attempted to switch the TV to HDMI and was informed by the front desk that a special remote was required. I had to go to the desk to retrieve it myself.nWhen I went to bed, I noticed a stain on one of the pillows. Upon closer inspection, it was clearly blood. I checked the rest of the bed and found that two of the four pillows had blood stains. I immediately checked my daughters’ bed, which thankfully was clean. At this point it was approximately 10:30–10:45 p.m., and we were exhausted. I removed the contaminated pillows and used one of my child’s pillows for the night.nAt 7:00 a.m., I reported the issue to the front desk, keeping the conversation quiet and professional as other guests were present. At checkout around 7:30 a.m., I raised the issue again, this time more directly, as no one else was around. I asked for a manager to contact me.nI never received a call.nAfter waiting through the day and into the next morning, I contacted Booking.com. Two days later, Booking.com advised that the hotel refused to take responsibility and issued a credit of only $23.00. booking issued the credit, not the hotelnBased on my experience, I strongly recommend that anyone considering staying here reconsider. The cleanliness standards are unacceptable, management was unresponsive, and the propped-open fire doors on the third floor represent a serious safety hazard. I will be contacting Ottawa By-law Services and the Fire Department to report the fire safety concerns.nThis was an extremely disappointing and unsettling experience, especially while traveling with childrennnEdit: After initially refusing to address the issue through Booking.com, the hotel eventually issued a refund. Notably, the refund was processed only after I posted my review. When I later received the invoice reflecting the refund, I noticed that the hotel had blacklisted me, for reasons that were never explained. Based on this experience, I would strongly suggest that others avoid staying at this property.
Rooms clean and it was quiet even when there were a few families with children. Easy to get to and leave to and from the highway. Restraunt next door which is great, don't have to travel around the city to find one.nSome suggestions for the stairs going into the pool should have something on them to make them not slippery. Husband slipped on the first step going into the pool and he was even holding onto the railing. Scraped his arm and ankle, a few bruises on his hip, ankle and rib area other then that he is fine. There should also be another tub railing along the side of the tub where the soap container is for better safety for older people.
