I had a very pleasant stay at the Holiday Inn Express Ottawa East – Orleans. The hotel is conveniently located just off Hwy 174, close to shopping, restaurants, and only a short drive from downtown Ottawa. It’s a great option if you’re looking to stay outside the busy city center but still want easy access.nnThe room was clean, modern, and comfortable. The bed was cozy, and I appreciated having a mini fridge, microwave, and plenty of outlets to charge devices. The bathroom was spotless and stocked with quality toiletries. Everything felt well-maintained and quiet, which made for a restful stay.nnThe complimentary breakfast was a nice touch—lots of options including eggs, bacon, toast, cereal, fresh fruit, and even a pancake machine. The breakfast area was clean and well-managed, with staff keeping things stocked and tidy.nnSpeaking of staff, everyone I encountered was friendly, professional, and eager to help. Check-in and check-out were smooth and quick.nnOverall, Holiday Inn Express Ottawa East offers excellent value, comfort, and service. nLast week, I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! Everything was amazing—from the warm and welcoming front staff to the clean and comfortable rooms. The service was excellent, and every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. I truly enjoyed my time here and would definitely recommend it to anyonenlooking for a great experience. I’ll definitely be coming back!nIn Addition, there is a excellent restaurant as well Myra’s- 5 stars to that as well.
We were booked in for two nights, but had something come up, that we needed to head back home on the second day. Front desk staff were great and allowed us to cancel the second night. Pool was large and water was perfect temperature. We had the breakfast buffet in the hotel, which was great..kids eat free was a nice bonus! Our server Samir was great, and funny! My boys just loved him! Large shopping centre is across the street, which was easy to walk to. Rooms were large and clean.
Hotel is rundown and needs some major updating.nFront lobby has been updated and looks nice, not the rest of the hotel. Gym is run down and dirty stained floor, both treadmills were broken at time of stay. Carpet in hallways is loose and needs to be restretched or replaced. Terrible smells throughout the hotel. Our floor smelled like a barn yard, others were terrible odors. Hallways were very dirty. Would not stay here again. Staff were friendly.
We stayed here for my son’s volleyball tournament, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. Our room was missing basic items like shower towels, a bath mat, and tissues, which made us question whether it had been properly cleaned. The front desk apologized and gave a 20% discount, which I appreciated, but the initial impression was already poor.nnOn checkout day, I accidentally left our Kindle tablet in the room safe. I realized it later that same day and immediately contacted the hotel. I was told to call back because only housekeeping could check. Over the next several days, I called multiple times, left messages, and was promised callbacks that never came. When I finally spoke with a supervisor and then the manager, I was told the tablet couldn’t be found.nnHad staff acted promptly when I first called, the device could very likely have been recovered. I understand leaving it was my mistake, but the lack of urgency, follow-through, and accountability from hotel staff was incredibly frustrating and disappointing.
