Nice, nice, nice people! Unfailingly helpful and friendly and personable, genuinely so (not like some of the bigger banks), and they truly make you feel like they appreciate your business. They make eye contact, and it's a good feeling when you are remembered from visit to visit. No mistakes ever, in the six years I've been with them, records and statements are clear and easy to get, website is helpful and user-friendly. I also appreciate the helpful seminars they offer from time to time.

Really frustrating. I usually go to the St Paul branch. I took my first check from my new job to the maple grove branch as its closer and I was going over my lunch break. 1) it has the ambiance of a mausoleum. The teller were all sour faced and busy with other tasks. Too busy to make eye contact or say hello. I get it there is more to do but this was uncomfortably quiet and the 4 tellers all looked angry. 2) I waited 5-6 minutes while one teller had a customer and three others moved around the teller area counting things. Again, no smile, no eye contact, no "be right with you" 3) older white light-haired woman teller just looks at me when available and says nothing but puts her palms out as if to say "well? what!". I placed my debit card and signed check down just like I do at the St Paul branch. " oh, you don't have a slip" "I'm sorry the other branch doesn't require a slip" "they should. I like a paper trail. What's your account number? This is your (points at debit card) credit card number it's not your checking account number" she sighs, harumphs, and pulls out a deposit slip and writes out the amounts "you need to sign for the cash" by now I'm a little peeved so I'm not replying. I signed the same signature I have used since charting dozens of medical records daily and have used on all legal documents since 1989. Sure, it's swirly but it's short and who cares? "Yeah, that looks real..." and she walks off with no explanation. 5-10 minutes later she comes back (I saw her working in the back on a terminal just like the one at her desk. At St Paul the swipe my card AMD it takes like 30 seconds to complete a deposit). I'm sorry you don't believe in computers but if you don't like your job just retire. 3) I drove back to work to cool off. I called the branch number. Colleen answered. "I just had a frustrating encounter with a teller there. May I speak to the teller supervisor?" "What is your member number?" "I'm sorry, I'm not sure of it (I only use it on my computer maybe once a month so I have it written there)" "well, most people know their member number". "Colleen, I'm sorry I interrupted your day. I'll just go on Google and Facebook and share it with everyone. I tried to ask for a supervisor" I guess it was Colleen whom I dealt with and she wasn't interested in forwarding the call. This branch, which is also the home office, sucks. It's obvious the employees hate working there. I'm guessing the president is more focused on his old truck and signing up business accounts to foster a healthy work environment/pleasant customer service experience. I'm looking for a new credit union.

I became a member in 1979, shortly after beginning work at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company; of course, the credit union name back then wasn't TopLine, but rather Minneapolis Telco Credit Union, as the CU started as a service for the employees of Ma Bell. They've been very helpful over the years, and the personalized service that they provide is way above average. I want to thank them for being there to help me with my financial needs over the past 36 years!
