The Kitchen American Bistro

Simply excellent. Came into town for a four-day trip and this was by far the most impressive place we visited. Food ordered: Oysters, Skirt Steak, Roasted Chicken, Crab Fried Rice, & Asparagus. Drinks: Live on Mars, Purple Rain. Everything was excellent. The service was also pretty fast. Would definitely revisit again someday in the future!

Simply delicious food and cocktails served in a stylish and airy setting. All the staff members are very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. It was such a lovely dining experience for our slightly jet lagged group. Personally, I particularly enjoyed the Baked Alaska and the cocktail To June, Love Johnny. Tempted to re-visit before leaving Chicago!

The Kitchen is impressive! The waiters and manager are so well educated and trained that puts this restaurant above average. The new pastry Chef made the Coconut Tres Leches Cake with passion fruit perfectly and so rich of flavors!! We were overwhelmed!! The food was really good as well, we had the Black Linguine with Shrimp, the tomato starter which has a mix of salt and sweet, and the Peruvian steak. Definitely 5 stars for the food, service, and the amazing staff!

Delicious food, great views, and good service. We came here on a weeknight for a business dinner and got a seat outside facing the water. It was fun to get a full view of the river and see all the summer activities! The food was really tasty - definitely try the crullers, they are phenomenal.

Spent Sunday brunch on St. Patrick's weekend here and loved the views of the river, especially when dyed green. The menu items were great. Great bloody mary and enjoyed my lobster roll! Make reservation and have a meal with an insane view here!

Awesome place for dinner before a show! We got there around 5 on a Saturday night because we didn't have a reservation. We got in easily at that time, but if you were coming later it'd be good to reserve a few days out. My steak was very good, although cooked a bit more than the medium I asked for. The flavor was great though. My wife's chicken was incredible, and is definitely the meal to get if you like chicken. It was moist with awesome flavor.

Loved everything about this place! Great vibe at the bar, the bartender was awesome! Made us drinks to our liking, the appetizers were delish. Best oysters I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to be back and explore more of the menu.

American bistro is an exception place of casual yet fine dining! The outdoor patio is located quietly in the middle of Chicago downtown inside the historic WirlPool building. You have a view of the river, the bridge, and skyline. The staff is excellent. We had delicious Kansas City style steak and crispy roasted cauliflower with pickled veggies. Chèvre Cheese with blueberry was mouthwatering! Overall a great restaurant for private events, celebrating with a party or just a date night for two! The menu has all the apps entries and desert. The interior is rustic and artsy and outdoor patio is easily accessible next to the bridge.

The bartender Goose made THE PERFECT espresso martini a lot of people don’t make them right. The server Brandon was super nice and made sure to go directly to the chef for my sisters nut allergy which was amazing and we are very appreciative!!! Great food and experience especially for my moms birthday!!!! Brandon you were a fabulous server! If you come here request him! And if you sit at the bar request Goose - very very good bartender!!! Dietary restrictions: Very understanding for peanut allergies and the sever made sure to directly inform the chef about the allergy.

A very good dining spot, despite the somewhat high price. The sea salt cocktail was very good, quite fruity and tasty. We had many dishes shared amongst a large table, and each person of ~6 had a different favorite dish. It was all very good, highly recommended. Some favorites were the lobster roll, the steak, the brussel sprouts, and the squid ink pasta, just to name a few. Happy eating!
