New owners & new chef and oh my, amazing food! The staff is on point and the atmosphere is luxurious without feeling too stuffy. They are currently doing breakfast, lunch, and brunch on the weekends, so looking forward to seeing what this chef brings to the table once they get back to doing dinners.Food: 5/5
The food was excellent and the service was good. My partner and I visited the place for breakfast and enjoyed it very much, especially the lemon ricotta pancakes which were outstanding. Additionally, my avocado toast was skillfully prepared and had a great taste. Impressed with the quality of the food, I made a reservation for a business lunch, and all my guests were pleased with the beautifully arranged and delectable dishes.
The experience we had at 312 was beyond incredible. It's difficult to express in words. As a restaurateur, I understand the immense effort required to pay attention to every detail of the dining experience, and I must say Craig and his team have done a wonderful job. Right from the moment we walked in, we were enveloped in a warm and welcoming atmosphere rare in Chicago. The menu was a delightful surprise, catering to every taste bud and craving. I heard the chef is from Italy, and I could taste the love he put into every dish, making it an unforgettable culinary experience. It was an absolute honor to dine at this wonderful establishment, and we can not thank them enough for providing us with such an exceptional experience. By the way, you must try the Panna cota!!!!!!
Five stars for excellent service! I'm surprised anyone had a bad service experience there. The missing star is actually for the food. Everyone we encountered was on their A game, and I'm one who appreciates stellar service. We were there at 1pm on Tuesday, December 24th, before Phantom of the Opera. We ordered 2 meals from the $33 3 course menu, 2 glasses of wine, tea, and sparkling water. Both desserts were disappointing, the main was okay, but we both enjoyed the soup. Good portion sizes, but felt overpriced as the food was underwhelming overall. I chalked it up to paying for the service. It's a place I'd pop into again for wine and an appetizer. review from 2019
Great service, good location and an original menu for an Italian restaurant. The only problem that we encountered is that some of their dishes that were not listed as spicy very quite spicy. Other than that, a good place for a special dinner, very close to most theaters that are downtown.
I really enjoyed my main dinner here. The appetizer was average but the entree blew my socks off. I had the Linguini Nere which is Squid Ink pasta with scallops and shrimp. The sauce was creamy without being overly fishy. Delish! The kids menu was overpriced for what they got and neither items were especially appetizing for my kids. The drinks were also a little of the mark. The first martini was great but the second was very boozy and unbalanced. However the bathrooms were very clean and nice and the restaurant itself was very pleasant to the eye.
Indulge in mouth-watering Italian cuisine at this hidden gem. Exceptional flavors and fresh ingredients make every dish a delight. Highly recommended.
Dubbed the most romantic restaurant in Chicago. Amazing service by an Italian staff. We were served by Marko, who had a good sense of humor. I had my drink paid for because it was my graduation day. Highly recommended if you can afford it.
Good Italian downtown. Not cheap, but the quality of the dishes is definitely above average. Squash tortellini and calamari were very good. Service is decent, they took away my salad before I had a chance to finish.
Went for breakfast. Fast service with friendly and attentive staff. Got the Italian breakfast with espresso and coffee. Drinks were quality and the food was delicious. On the pricier end but definitely worth checking out if you're nearby.
