To those reading: Tangerine released funds from my bank account for a cheque deposited on Jan 6, 2017 that was post-dated for September 2017 (8 months in advance!). I notified them immediately once I received my January statement. They apologized for the error and assured me they would put the funds back within a couple of days. Although less than a month had passed, on Feb 2 they went back on their word and said they are not able to reimburse me because more than 14 days had passed. They placed sole blame on the other financial institution for processing the transaction, and told me to go after the party that deposited my cheque early, even though Tangerine is the party that simply gave away my money without validating the transaction and now refuses to reimburse me. If you are reading this, please, please share this incident with others, whether in person or on social media, so you can help protect your family and friends from becoming a victim of Tangerine.
