The immensely popular restaurant in downtown Toronto was difficult to get a reservation. I came with my colleagues on Monday at 9PM. Both of us were excited about the dinner over there, on account of how we tried to make reservations many times and didn't get the precise booking. Rely on our experience, most of the parts were excellent. The service was great and they presented the accurate details for all the dishes when they were on the table, and gave you advice to take order, so you don't need to hesitate to make decisions. I highly recommend it when you must keep the room to get dessert, even though there were only two dishes on the menu, don't make a choice, take them all, you never regret it.
My family had an impeccable dining experience to celebrate my birthday. The build out is gorgeous and lots of thought went into all of the design aspects. I loved the careful attention to detail, even including the slightly kitschy panda chopstick rests. The cocktail list was unique and utilized unexpected ingredients like hawthorne. The food was incredible with explosive flavour. Just make sure that you like onions and spice before dining here! I appreciated that they listed the region where the dishes were from. The black sesame toast and soy ice cream was the perfect way to end the fiery meal. I thought that the portions and pricing were fair, and we ended up ordering 9 dishes + 2 desserts for 6 people. Service was top notch and VERY attentive. We can't wait to go back to taste the rest of the menu. Keep up the great work, Team!
Good service, and great vibes, but the food is just okay, especially for the price. Expected better food, given how much hype this place has. You can get the same kind of dishes like the beans, salt & pepper squid, beef shank at Congee Queen or Asian Legend that are much better in taste and value. Cumin cabbage skewers are the one notable dish; it is unique and tasty.
FINALLY got to try this place after working so hard to land a reservation! Such a cute ambiance and the service was so nice! Now the food: really great flavours and my favourites were definitely the desserts get both and mix them together - you won’t be sorry the burning noodles, and the cabbage. Luckily the dumplings were on special and they were super juicy! The beef and broccoli was also really good. The only underwhelming one was the orange chicken - still good chicken and with the fresh orange it was tasty, just wanted a little more flavour on it. Overall this was a really great meal and I can’t wait to come back and try some of the other dishes!
A terrific spot you’ll find off the street in Kensington; follow the sign and head down the hallway. We booked ahead and sat at the bar, which was a fun experience with matching service and conversation. The food, with all its salty, spicy, oily goodness, goes well with drinking; the noodles, lamb and beans were all tasty. 5 to 7 dishes are the norm for two people. The French toast topped it off; lots of sweet, savoury and crunch going on there. Slightly expensive, but not unexpected. Excellent date night spot.
The service was amazing and loved the atmosphere. The food was just okay for the price, but the service really boosted the dining experience. Of the dishes we ordered, the typhoon shelter squid was the most memorable fried and seasoned perfectly- literally melts in your mouth. Would definitely go back again just for the soy milk soft serve with butterscotch!
Everything on the menu is so so good. A must visit! We ordered the squid, pork, burning noodles, silver needle noodle, mushroom stir fry, cabbage, tiger salad, heritage chicken - everything was just so good! Even the desserts both are delicious and such a good balance. The cocktails are also a win. Definitely must try
Amazing food and cool vibe. The orange chicken and French toast were the highlights. Highly recommend. Noodles and green beans too. We sat at the kitchen counter and got to watch the cooking. Great cooks and service.
Quality and tasty Chinese food, albeit small portions and pricey. Split the orange chicken, silver needle noodle, beef with broccoli, and husband wife beef with my wife plus both desserts and we were just full. Pics taken last week during dine in visit last week. Decor is a dark diner style vibe so sorry some of the pics are dark.
First off, let’s agree that you will get lost and waste time looking for this place. Yes? So I provided photos as clues how to find it. It’s literally hidden. Now for the food and ambiance, it’s just regular food. Nothing really mind blowing. The tables are so small that you will have to play the how will this fit in here game. The place is also dark and loud. Overall, meh, I can’t really recommend eating dine in here. Maybe takeout? The waiters are nice though, I told them this too and one said she was lost too the first time she went in. Maybe a better sign outside and not the torn cardboard paper as sign?
