Really homey feel. Love the decorations and the food. It's great to see the ladies make the buns and food fresh. Masters at their craft as the buns were very delicious. Very bouncy and chewy dough with savoury filling. Lots of good pork and soy sauce flavours. Also got a beef pancake, super good. The meat juices were sealed inside the crispy dough. Really satisfied.
Simple eats with a low key vibe. Ordered D03 Green Onion Pancake & A01 Braised Pork Pan Fried Bun. A decent snack option while you’re in the area. Five for effort. Food has potential. It’s new, so will come back to see how it develops. Dish details in the photos.
Went here for a nostalgia hit of my childhood breakfasts in suburban China, and it delivered well. I ordered a bunch of staples I remember having as a kid - fried dough sticks, soy milk, and of course the pan fried buns. The bun wrappers were a bit too thick and doughy for my liking, but the buns themselves were well fried and super juicy. Overall the food was just okay, but the vibes were great - a solid place for a morning meal!
I think this spot is fairly new as it was my first time seeing it I could be wrong. Moms pan fried buns is a local spot that serves a variety a comfort food from wontons, congee, pancakes, their signature pan fried buns and more! The servers were quite friendly and helped us deciding what to order. Seats are fairly limited as it’s a small restaurant, so be prepared that you may have to wait - especially if you come during prime dinner time. I noticed they offer delivery as I’ve seen many delivery drivers coming in. The kitchen is open concept, and it was really cool to see them frying the buns in a huge wok. The signature mom pan fried buns were so definitely my favourite! The hun was very soft, and the pork inside was very juicy, tender as well. The wontons were good, but the soup was the star of this dish - I couldn’t stop slurping it. Black sesame lovers will enjoy their black sesame lava patty - not too sweet, perfect for dessert. Buns are delicious. The staff is friendly. Highly recommend you try the pan fried pork buns with the vinegar and crispy chili oil. I came during a work trip so ate there. They were happy to have me, but explained that most people get take out.
Delicious, they have a wide variety of selections. I’ll definitely come back once again for more foods. I wish the seats are more and the arrangements are better. I would prefer eating in as foods like this are better eaton as soon it is cooked.
Greatly recommend if you’re in the area. Great prices, especially for hungry students looking to share some bites among friends. Dumplings were flavourful and come wrapped in a soft doughy exterior. The patty was also very filling and flavourful. Kept it simple with a Green Onion pancake and it did not disappoint. Looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes from the menu.
The buns were cold and the meat inside was at slightly warm level when served, questioned the server about the temperature and she said they are not supposed to be cold. Later the other server came back with my microwaved buns. Ordered a wonton soup too, they were delicious and hot. I tried other restaurant's pan-fried juicy pork buns, they were always extremely hot when served, wonder why the buns here were not, especially for dine in. Besides the temperature of the buns, everything was great.
Wow, this place is incredible! Soft buns, juicy, flavourful filling and addicting chili oil. Highly recommend!
Loved this little gem in old china town. I've been meaning to try this place for a while and it definitely did not disappoint. Of course I wanted to try the original mom's pan-fried buns and they were absolutely delicious! Very reasonable and filling for lunch/snack. Will come again with a friend or twoFood: 5/5
