Some staff are really nice and helpful, but some have very bad attitude most especially the reception ladies who work at the blood test department. I had to wait 3 months for my appointment and even with the appointment, you still have to wait in queue for a long period of time before your blood test. It’s a must you have/confirm the date and time of your appointment before coming, bring your medicare card and don’t forget to come with a note from your doctor or the original copy of your prescription form a doctor. However, if you don’t have these things listed above the receptionist would not take it likely and would send you back.nnNOTE: it’s really hard to get quick appointments at this hospital so if you get one make sure to come prepare to avoid loosing it.nnUpdate: easily accessible by public transport and parking is very difficult, even the paid parking sometimes is fully occupied. The hospital elevators are completely CHAOS
Their emergency room is absolutely the best place to be taken care of in your hardest time. The staff doctors and nurses, starting with the Triage and Registration is very knowledgeable, patient ,kind ,compassionate and caring which makes a BIG difference for the patient in urgent situations. I spent there about 18 hours from 7 pm till 1 pmnNOT because of the 114% occupancy rate and waiting to be seen, but because that's how fast they did ALL the blood tests ,exams,X-rays,scans and getting back the results ,so I can go home feeling OK and knowing what was wrong before. I never lacked any comfort kudos for the Lazy-Boy chairs :nThank you for all of you, what a wonderful staff !
I waited about 2 hrs before i was checked first. Im having a hard time breathing and the nurses checks it out. I ask if its serious which she response yes seems to be pneumonia and said the doctor will be with you very quickly. Waited about 5 hrs. I guess its not that serious than . I had faith in this place according to a friend of a friend that they takecare of every patient seriously.
Went in at 11pm to the ER. Patients get called at a pace of one per hour for 7 hours. Incredibly stinking homeless people allowed to roam the waiting room the whole time. Do not trust the lower occupancy rate on the Quebec ER status website, you’re still better off going to say, CHUM even if it’s more occupied.
They finally called me for an ultrasound after waiting 10 months. I arrive 20 minuted early, the waiting room is full, it empties, more people arrive, and some are taken immediately without even having a chance to sit. After 50 minutes I go see the technician. She had the most ignorant and rude attitude and told me she couldn't say how many people were before me even though she checked the list, or how much longer I'd have to wait, and to go sit and wait to be called. Well, considering I waited 10 months and another hour in the waiting room with two dozen people going before me only to have some ignorant kid tell me to wait God know how long while they play their game and take everyone before me, I think I've waited long enough!nThis follows a pattern since I complained to an ombudsman after a surgical error left me disabled in 2012, and had written some negative reviews of doctors who either refused diagnostic testing and treatment, neglected or abused me in the years thereafter. You can expect this sort of 'adding insult to injury' treatment here in Montreal and the McGill University Health Centres if you go to an ombudsman for help. First they maim you, then cover it up and play games, leaving you to suffer and slowly die.nI'm beginning to think that sadists and psychopaths found a good playground in hospitals here in the MUHC.
