I had a great experience with Dr. Forest. Her patient care is above and beyond. The nurse on shift Fidal or Vidal was great as well. He was very attentive. I had trouble understanding one of the nurses or techs, I think her name is Julia. She did not speak English or French enough to communicate properly and did not seem to possess an understanding of how to work the heart monitor.
Highly recommend St Mary’s hospital to anyone who will listen. It’s my go-to ER and I’ve always had a good experience there as far as ER visits can go. I ended up having to have knee surgery there this past summer, for which the process was very good! Kind nurses and doctors the whole time : They are extremely bilingual there which is a plus with Quebec’s language laws surrounding healthcare.
Honestly disappointed in this emergencies visit and Dr. John Lewis, considering my GMF experience has been great. Intake for my arrythmia was good, nurses were nice. I was told to stay and wait. The doctor asked me why I didn't leave and come back and insisted on staying over night. I was asked to? By YOUR nurses? Judgemental about my CBD intake when I was prescribed this as a medication. Cmon, it's 2025, myguy. Get with the program.nHe didn't sign my referral, which meant more calls to the hospital cardiology department. Thankfully they were very nice and said they'd run after the signature, but that means this doctor created more work for them, too.nWith my chronic health issues, I've seen at least 50 doctors in my adult life, if not more. This doctor makes people dislike seeking help. He lacked empathy, was belittling, didn't ask questions about my health, or my meds, or if I changes dosages or anything in my routine, was rude about the whole ordeal, and clearly the communication with ER staff was lacking.nGo to the ER somewhere else, or you may land on this guy. As a patiente partenaires at UdM, this is a story I'll gladly discuss with my colleagues.
My experience at this hospital was terrible. The emergency room wait times are ridiculously long—like you’re forgotten there. Trying to book an appointment? Get ready to wait for a month or more, and even then, only a few doctors are actually available.nnThe staff were rude and didn’t listen at all. It felt like they didn’t care about patients and just wanted to get rid of you as fast as possible. This kind of neglect and attitude is unacceptable in any healthcare setting.nnIf you value your time and health, I strongly suggest you look elsewhere. This hospital is not the place to get proper care.
What a terrible experience! Staff member are so impatient , rude and don’t let you explain anything . My mom had a major surgery which does not allow her to sit due to extreme pain . We arrived at 4 am for an emergency and I had to literrally beg the nurse to see her as otherwise my mom’s bladder was ready to burst from the discomfort. Afterwards they sent us to the emergency to sit and wait for the doctor to call . Two hours later my mom was literally crying from the pain of sitting down as she is unable to sit …. She put her feet up on a chair as the wheelchair was not comfortable for sitting either . Within 5 mins , the security guard came to tell us she couldn’t put her feet up . We tried to explain that she had just put her feet up as she was in unbearable pain I tried to ask the nurse if a stretcher was available for my mom to lie down on as she couldn’t sit anymore … and no obviously nothing was available . She proceeded to tell me she had shown my mom “ kindness “ by letting her lie down on it during the triage . Anyhow , the security guard was extremely rude and condescending and told us he was going to make a police complaint on us if she didn’t put her feet down ….. truly … what an amazing experience for a patient . He did proceed to send another security guard that forced my mom to put her feet down even though she was tearfully telling her she couldn’t beat the discomfort anymore . Oh and let me mention … the emergency room for empty save for 3 patients ! It’s not like people were standing around looking for a chair !
