Emergency visit was very professional and pleasant. Was seen within 15 minutes, and due to severity, was seen no more than 15 more minutes after being admitted. Doctor provided me with all necessary information and the nurse was amazing. She took her time to ensure bandages were perfect and was extremely polite... Amazing staff.
A huge shout-out to all the nurses working on the 12th floor for brain trauma. A special thanks for the neurosurgeon Dr. Saluja. Your team were coming in and out doing follow-ups and providing updates. You guys are amazing and caring well for the patients. Really appreciate the care you have provided for my father and mother while she stayed beside my dad from morning to evening. Bravo!
The worst experience of my life!nnThe place reeked of filth, there were homeless people everywhere, unsanitary conditions, and the staff treated me like a piece of meat. This is the most hellish place on earth.nnNever come here, and under no circumstances should you get surgery in this hospital. The operating rooms are filthy, and the doctors couldn’t care less about you. Go to any other hospital, just not this one.nnI waited 24 hours in the emergency room. Homeless people were sleeping on the floor, it smelled like urine, and one guy even urinated on the floor—nobody did anything about it.nnWithin the first half hour after my surgery, they forcibly moved me into a wheelchair and wanted to discharge me. I turned on the voice recorder on my phone, and only then did they let me sit on a chair for a little longer, but it was excruciatingly painful. They kept pushing me to leave. Two hours after the surgery, my friend came to pick me up, and we left in a taxi.nnIt is absolutely unacceptable to kick patients out immediately after surgery without proper checks and observation. Now I have complications and had to go to another hospital.nnAt General Hospital, the level of unsanitary conditions was horrifying. Before the surgery, they made me change into a surgical gown in the emergency room’s restroom, which was as filthy as the dirtiest public bathrooms. From there, they took me straight to the operating room, which was just as dirty.nnThey tied my hands and legs and gave me anesthesia. When I woke up, I was in unbearable pain—12 out of 10, like I was being cut open alive. Nobody paid any attention to me for the first 30 minutes. No matter how much I begged for help, they blatantly ignored me.nnWhile I was writhing in pain, after about 30 minutes, two orderlies came and moved me into a wheelchair. A woman showed up immediately and told me to leave.nnIt was terrifying and horrible. I felt like disposable waste, a piece of meat that no one cared about.nnNever, ever come here! This is the worst place you could ever end up in.
I just moved to Montreal and I knew the wait was going to be long but this was excruciatingly long. If you come from out of province and don’t have a QB health card, don’t worry as long as your old provincial card is still valid. I had a few people who were right before me and it seemed like we were all getting dealt with around the same time. Total of 12 hours in and out. Long but thorough. Nobody is gonna come check on you or anything you have to speak up for yourself. However, I had the kindest doctor I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with in years in Canada. He was kind, empathic and reassuring. Dr.Schirmer is the kind of doctor we all need. I would give him 5 stars, all for him and the nurse that helped me at the very end…you have restored my faith in doctors. Bless
I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the behavior of the receptionist at the CT scan department, located on the 5th floor, Block D, Room 905 of the Montreal General Hospital. Her conduct has been extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. She does not respond to greetings, performs her duties with visible hostility, and treats patients with a clear lack of courtesy and compassion. Patients, especially those dealing with serious health conditions such as cancer, deserve to be treated with kindness and empathy. They are already facing immense physical and emotional challenges, and it is unacceptable for a hospital staff member to add to their distress through rude or indifferent behavior. Unfortunately, this receptionist shows the same disrespectful attitude even toward cancer patients, which is both troubling and disappointing.
