Sobeys Laird & Wicksteed

Very nice Sobeys grocery store. Located in a plaza, there is ample parking, accessibility entrances and parking spots, and other shopping options nearby as well. Sobeys is a higher end grocery store, and they have a very good selection of hot and prepared foods, along with fresh produce and dry/grocery items. The store is very well staffed, and it's very easy to find someone whenever you have a question. Store is well designed as well with all the fresh produce, bakery, meat, and fish on one side, and groceries on the other side. While they do offer halal meats, it's a very minimal selection. They were celebrating the launch of Scene+ at the time, a great new rewards program for the grocery store.

This Sobeys is not the biggest but it has all the essentials. Items are organized in a structured way to make things easily visible and accessible. Lots of room in the aisle and the staff are friendly as well. The plaza has a lot of space to park as well which is a plus. All in all, nice Sobeys but I dont personally frequent Sobeys as it’s more expensive than other grocery chains.

I used to love their food because of their reasonable price and good quality but for the last 67 months everything changed there. They raised their prices a lot, and the quality is going lower and lower. Today I went to get something on my break for lunch. I got 2 pieces of pizzas. The sign was $2.99 but they charged me$3.99 per piece. The size was half of what it used to be for that price. I asked her to warm it up and she said it’s cold outside so there is no point to warm it! At the end I charged for 2 pieces of cold, salty pizza double than what I was expecting. I live in the neighbourhood and work in the same plaza but I would never shop from them again even if I’m starving.

What’s not to love about this supermarket! They have their own bakery which is awesome and so tasty ! I love that they have a flower shop in their and balloons for birthday occasions or anniversary and many other occasions which is awesome! Staff is super friendly and helpful!!

Clean and helpful staff that will point you in the right direction. Lots of options with unique products that you won't find at other grocery stores. Just expect to pay a little more.

I visited the store often specifically for bakery and cakes. I ordered cake for my kids birthdays from there. This time i disappointed because cake was not that much good . And from last few visits I feel a smelly environment around the bakery saction. Which is not very pleasant.

Amazing service by the most lovely ladies and team here at this Location of Sobeys! I called later on at the night time before going in because I had a unique but emergency situation that came up which required me to get flowers completely last minute on a whim! I spoke to Judy on the phone in the beginning and she understood the magnitude of the situation at hand. She than transferred me to Olivia who helped me out so much in choosing such a beautiful bunch to put together for me. The wrapping and presentation was so gorgeous I was beyond a satisfied customer upon getting it on arrival! Shoutout to Evelyn and Michaela as well for all being there to assist! I can not thank this Sobeys location enough for helping me out and being so understanding! They didn’t have to go out of they way like that to help me, but they did! Please can the owner or manager give these girls some recognition for this! They were even more polite and courteous in refusing to accept me getting them anything they wanted in the store as a token of my appreciation for the last minute request and help! You girls are awesome and I am forever grateful.

I've been shopping at this Sobeys for quite a few years. I haven't been let down yes very rare do they not have what I'm looking for. They have a great variety of products ranging from candy bars to ice cold beer and everything in between. I find the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly and the people at the meat counter are the nicest I've seen in a long time! Highly recommend sobies as about the best grocery store I deal with. Again not bad prices excellent service and very friendly and knowledgeable staff you can't go wrong there

Worst customer service ever. I used the new self-checkout cart today. Upon paying for the purchase, I asked the associate elderly Caucasian woman working at the self-checkout lane if I can kindly use the paper bags after I pay, she proceeded to answer in an extremely rude tone and was eyeing me up and down, which was uncalled for. While I was still loading my stuff in to the bags, she said "you know you can't take the cart outside right?" with the same rude tone. Mind you I was still loading stuff and standing on the side close to the self-checkout area. I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome. If I didn't already pay using the self-checkout cart, I would've left and give my money elsewhere. I called the store and left the feedback to the produce manager and he said he would relay the message to the general manager tomorrow. Hopefully no other shopper would have to go through this experience like I did.

The prices are high for most things with occasional sales. The layout is Franksteinish from grafting the former LCBO onto the original store. Going from produce to ice cream is an adventure in indirect travel. The bagels are terrible - dry and not really edible - but advertised as NY style. That would be true if all of NY had stale bagels. And there's no price for them listed so you are shocked at the checkout because they are over-priced. The meat department has good things, but the clerks are generally uniformed and uninterested. They are usually out of what they advertise, and the staff don't know what is in their flyer. The seafood department is great - Dustin is helpful and knowledgeable about all the items. I use Air Miles and Sobey's is killing them and introducing a movies card that I don't use. So, I am not coming back when that happens and staying with good old reliable Metro and Loblaw.
