Metro

This Metro location was my grocery store during the pandemic. The staff were amazingly helpful, patient and kind. Many of us don’t care to reflect back and recall how unnerving it was going into a shop for 10 minutes. The staff at this store, led by John, were doing their very best. They were as fearful as the rest of us, but they wore their masks, sanitized checkout surfaces after each customer, and worked with us to ensure we got what we needed.nnPrior to March 2020, I would only occasionally shop here. Now, I shop here each week and it’s because of the staff.nnAlso, the store is extraordinarily clean and the aisles uncluttered. Cheers!

This branch offers custom flower bouquet design and Elena is super helpful and very talented. She did an amazing job helping us out choosing flowers and she made this beautiful bouquet for us and I'd like to thank her.

This is the largest supermarket in the area. It is very well stocked. It has a great fresh meat section, a Blackett and even a sushi station. Over the summer they also have an extensive garden centre. When it comes to the price we need to take a star away. It is a pleasure shopping here if you can afford it.

This store is dishonest. The store manager Luisa is rude and condescending. They have a policy that seasonal items are final sale but it’s posted no where. They expect consumers to go on their website to find this policy before making a decision to purchase their seasonal items. I had an advent calendar still in its clear wrapping and they won’t return even with a receipt bc it’s final sale. I don’t understand how they can pull something like this off without telling consumers that it is final sale. Seems dishonest to me. I’ve notified head office- still waiting for their response.

“November 14, 2024 - I visited Metro around 10 PM, an hour before closing, to buy a cake for my sister’s birthday. When I asked if they could write her name on the cake, the staff responded, ‘I’m not a designer, and we’re closing in 5 minutes—choose fast.’ This felt dismissive and completely ruined the moment for me. I was disappointed by the lack of care, especially during a special occasion. Metro, please consider training your staff to be more customer-oriented, even near closing time.”
