Sunny Foodmart

Worst customer service by a margin. Today bough 6 fishes from this store, price came around CAD 13, asked counter to add 4 more fishes, they added 5 but apparently did not change the label. With other items when I went for checkout, counter said fish weight seems more than label, then I said yes I asked counter and they added 5 more fishes, so amount should be more than the initial label amount and told them to change it as per 11 fishes. They took it back to fish counter, brought back and I paid. After I paid, saw they charged CAD 29+ for 11 fishes now. I said this seems a little off. The manager came and insisted that the later label is correct. I said this is fine, just prove me that I am paying for the correct weight! Manager said fishes are already cleaned so can't be weighed (not sure how they weighed the second label then!?). We went back to fish counter and they took another similarly sized 11 fishes, weighed and price came around CAD 24 this time! The counter agreed there might be a mistake and offered to take that price for my fishes, but the store manager insisted that we have to take whatever the label says and will NOT change or even return the purchase and so we left. This is not a matter of 5 dollars, rather how the store manager in particular treats the customers. Haven't imagined receiving customer service like this from any place!

Good produce but not consistent. No rhyme or reason as to how and with what the produce is displayed. The place is chaotic and crowded. Staff aren't particularly friendly. Not clean at all. The meat department STINKS and the poultry looks very questionable. Cheap prices which is nice on packaged items and dry goods.

As there is no option, I put one star. There must have an option to put negative or no star. That must be applicable for sunny. It is a store for fresh vegetables only, other items are totally rubbish. Expired items belong to the shelves. Employees also bargain with the customers arguing that other than eatable items, there is no product with expiry date. When showed a shampoo with expiry date, they claimed, it's not a date. I was sueprised, this was claimed from the customer service point, not by the ordinary employees! The security guard was gentle and educated. He understood and say 'sorry' on behalf of the store. Sorry to say, I was a regular customer of sunny for all type of product, from now on, I must put second thought before shopping on it.

Sunny has a awesome fish store! The crab and lobster are in salt water and taste as if you are on the coast. The food selection is good too. If you're looking for something imported from other countries, give Sunny Food a try, you'll probably find it there. They sell Halal meats as well.

Very big store, but many items on shelves are expired as i witnessed so they had reduced the prices because of that. When i talked to the manager about it he started given foolish justifications for that. Food counter is good they have halal kitchen there too. But they charge an extra $.25 cents for another box if your 1st box is filled completely. The nice lady working there didn't charge me at all when she was filling my box. Otherwise an OK store for your usual groceries but be sure to check the expiry dates on the items you buy.
