Ricky's All Day Grill - North Nanaimo

The food was good. The place was pretty full and the kitchen was understaffed. The waitress was a god send to this location. Pretty sure she was managing the kitchen and the front of the house along with waiting tables! She comped our drinks as we waited over an hour for dinner service and she offered us a fresh tea and coffee for the road. Excellent service and we enjoyed our evening! Thank you!

The 2 stars are all for the staff. One of the worst dinning experiences I have had in along time. We had a veggie omelet with hollandaise that was very tasty and cheese and bacon burger that tasted of ... not cheese, not bacon and not grilled meat. The root beer was flat and the whole sad experience took over an hour and a half. The burger was missing the fried onions and the omelette came with toast that we asked for dry but it came buttered.Minor details in the long run but just added to the frustration of a long ,long dinning experience. Not how I would choose to spend my hard earned dollars. Kudo's to the staff. They where all charming.

We like the atmosphere at Ricky's. Comfortable booths and pleasant background music. Friendly service. The servings are large enough for an older couple like us to share, especially if we order an appy or dessert with the meal.

Didn't think they did takeout till I asked over the phone. Breakfast items here are good. Packaging was over the top for what I ordered but makes for better delivery. Even though I ordered ahead of time I still waited. Good though.

Service was painfully slow, but server was nice when we received service. Food was incredibly slow, we waited for almost an hour. The food was really good we had the Philly cheesesteak, Greek wrap and braised beef sandwich, but the soup was AWFUL! Not sure how someone can mess up squash soup but it happened! All in all a pretty “meh” experience.
