The Revue Cinema is a not-for-profit, community run cinema in Toronto's Roncesvalles neighbourhood.

Story

The recently renovated Revue Cinema is Toronto's premier not-for-profit community cinema. We offer great second-run Hollywood fare, insightful programming like our Silent Revue series — where classics from the silent era are accompanied on live piano — Food in Film, Designing the Movies, the rep-throwback Art For Eternity, Bechdel Tested, annual galas, retrospectives & numerous other community offerings.

The Revue opened in 1912, making it the oldest operating cinema in Toronto. Support us by becoming a member & enjoy great perks throughout the entire year!

If you’re a cinephile, you have to check out Revue Cinema. It’s the oldest theatre in Toronto, and easily one of my favourite places in the city.nnThey screen films in 70mm, 35mm, and 16mm, including a lot of rare titles you won’t find anywhere else. I’ve honestly lost count of how many films I’ve watched here over the years.nnThe staff and programmers do an amazing job curating what they show. Neon Dreams is a personal favourite.nnSuch a special spot. Highly recommend.
Drove up from Halifax last weekend and caught a late showing at the Revue Cinema, and honestly it was one of the highlights of the whole trip. The place has this incredible old-school theatre vibe with the original marquee out front that feels totally different from the multiplexes back home. Staff were genuinely warm and pointed us toward great seats without any fuss. If you're passing through Toronto and love film, this one is absolutely worth a stop.
We came for a special sold out screening for a very limited showing and we had a great time. It’s a beautiful historic theater and it has that old-school vibe that you just do not get in chain theaters. It’s located in a lovely neighborhood so it’s worth to walk around the area as well. The employees are great and the seats were fairly comfortable. Concessions have a long line up so time yourself accordingly. I am so glad we still have theaters like the Revue Cinema in Toronto!
Just attended Toronto Silent Film Festival at Revue Cinema on Ronci. Great line up of silent movies and, as always, great experience.nnOutside of Toronto Silent Film Fest, Revue Cinema offers fantastic experience for all movie goers who really appreciate the art of acting. You can watch some iconic movies from bygone era with superb acting. Several piano players are also amazing.nnRevue Cinema offers a breath of fresh air for all us who feel that we've been Marvel-ized ad nauseam. I can't recommend it enough!
