Story

Owned and operated by Hot Docs, this 650-seat venue is a year-round home for first-run Canadian and international documentaries, as well as special documentary presentations and showcases. Continuing its longstanding role as a community cinema, it also hosts many of the city’s independent film festivals and offers audiences some repertory and specialized film programming.

This is a really cool theatre space ... The concession offerings are interesting and reasonably priced compared to commercial theatres. The theatre space itself is beautiful and intimate, would have loved to sit in the balcony but we were late arriving. Looks like lots of interesting stuff plays here though!!

I love it here. Great movies, comfortable seats and the snack bar is reasonably priced and offers sane sizes of snacks. Their selection of booze and drinks includes local businesses in addition to multinational brands. I do recommend sitting in the balcony.

Classic old theater. Good for documentaries, with comfortable seating and a warm inviting atmosphere. All the trappings of an old theater are here, with popcorn bags fresh made, ticket windows, and somewhat notoriously, not nearly enough washrooms- 4 people max can fit in them, and it's awkwardly angled at that. Besides the washrooms-, its an absolutely great experience

Great movies! Buy a membership if you like movies. Show times work great fir seeing 2 movies at a time

Great movies. Classic building. Good beer wine and snacks. They show the Talking Heads every year!
