Cineplex Cinemas Varsity and VIP

Was in VIP Cinema 3 for Conclave at 6:05 PM on Tuesday, March 11.nnI chose the wrong seat but was told to go to concession to change it when the staff member had done it for me when I went to see another movie in VIP room and my seat was too close to the screen.nnThe staff who was assisting with seating appeared to have ended her shift because the door was left open when the movie started and a patron had to get up to close the door. Also, the two drinks orders that she took for two other patrons took forever and the server had a hard time getting it to ladies who were seated in the middle. The VIP theatres are not set up properly for serving food.nnAdditionally, there would also be a station for garbage and napkins and a sink for patrons to wash their hands outside. Washrooms could use urinals. It would be nice if the VIP lounge menu was available on the app, with hours and 360 panoramic view. At the concession, prices should be listed and they should introduce funky combinations such as popcorn and hot tamales. Introduce a food attraction besides the attraction. They should also be offering a container to hold the popcorn, drink and candy if they're going to sell combos. I had to manage all that while carrying my tote. If combos include a candy, why am I limited to just the first two top rows, especially when a large popcorn, drink not even the real thing but fountain and candy costs $26.26?! I was looking for something with nuts but couldn't find it quickly.

One of my favourite cinemas for first-run movies. The staff is nice and efficient, the theatre and screening rooms clean, good sound for the size of the rooms. The only thing you have to look out for are entitled Baby Boomers who obviously don’t pay attention to the preshow message about theatre etiquette and talk at normal volume throughout the screening. One waited for us after we told them to be quiet, saying you can’t talk to people like that, and claimed of the screening, “It’s interactive!” I’m not sure if she was the one on her phone with the brightness up during the movie at least once. While there are some great interactive screening series in the city, most of or maybe all of the screenings here aren’t, and it would be lovely if certain entitled people respected the rest of us and the hard work of the workers at this theatre to provide us with great viewing experiences.

Fantastic location, good theatre but not many choices of movies. Totally different audience and lovely atmosphere

Great location, service by Izaak at the entrance receiving tickets was friendly, professional and efficient despite the number of people entering at the same time.nnThe theatre is clean. There is a wall at one end of the area with movie posters on what films were coming and showing which was pretty useful because I returned the week after to watch a movie which I saw posted on the wall.

Convenient location, fairly clean, but TERRIBLE SEATS.nnThe chairs are the worst part about this theatre and the only reason I don't see movies at this location anymore, even though it's the closest to my home.nnThe seats DO NOT recline back easily nor comfortably. I'm stuck for two hours, sitting perpendicular to the screen and it's UNCOMFORTBLE to sit for that long in that position. My back hurts by the end of it. The only way the chairs recline back is if you're overweight I've seen it. I've sat in almost every auditorium at this location and they're all the same. Please fix your seats.nnAlso, the VIP section is unlike other Cineplex locations. They are small rooms with small screens. You still get service, but it is really worth the price?nnHonestly, this location needs to be demolished and rebuilt.
