Very nice theatre with a good selection of viewing options for new movie releases. The VIP seating is my favourite and I love the at seat menu service. And the seats are super comfy. If you’re with someone, the large large armrest between seats isn’t super conducive to hand holding but whatevs. It’s a movie. Eyes front! I’ve also been in the theatre where the seats vibrate and there are other subtle environmental additions that complement the movie. It was cool. I can’t remember the movie I watched with these seats but it was a lot. I loved it. My movie buddy not so much. And the regular cinema. It’s a regular cinema. Seats are a bit uncomfortable for the longer movies. I watched Dune 1 and was fidgety by the end. But that could just have been Dune 1. Overall good experience.
The IMAX theater had a crystal clear picture and high definition sound but it was way way way too loud. Several people were holding their ears the entire time including us. I would have assumed there was regulation in Canada for decibels. This theater would have been in excess of any such guideline. Seats were very comfortable and other than the volume the experience was great.
It is very convenient to reach and spacious theater. I feel the Dolby atmos sound is not superb but manageable.nnPlease note that if the movie time is at 10 a.m., they usually start the movie by 15 mins later .
VIP is where it's at!nnAvoid crowds!nnThe area is very clean. Bar area outside. Individual seats at the theater are somewhat reclining. There isn't a specific space to put your coats. Moveable tray to put your food if you order.nnFood was ok. I'd stick to the popcorn. Prices are reasonable. It's actually too dark to eat once the movie starts.nnFor foods that are fried fish and chips, Cineplex needs to change the oil that is being used because the food came out a dark brown meaning the oil is not fresh.
Great location but really hit or miss pending on when you visit. This location is just off of the Dundas TTC Subway Station, on the highest floor of 10 Dundas Street East. It's surprising how many theatres are packed in here as you navigate from the building lobby up to the theatre lobby.nnThe staff do a great job at checking for proof of vaccinations and being extra courteous and patient. This location has an orderly line system provided for being required to enter the theatre lobby. Additionally, you'll have to get in before purchasing the tickets on-site. The staff is pretty responsive in helping and letting customers know the usual about which theatre and what floor to be directed to.nnThe building maintenance is pretty hit or miss and could be better. When we visited, the women's bathroom was in horrible shape near theatre #6. When we went, one of the stalls had no door, at least two stalls were not dealt with and were clogged. In another stall, water was just everywhere. It was an absolute mess and was disgusting. This was around 3pm on a Saturday.nnUnfortunately, the IMAX theatre #6 that we went to was overly loud for our viewing of DUNE Part One. Our viewing experience was taken away by the sound quality and at some points, we could not even hear the actor's voices. Some of us had to put in earplugs/earbuds that we owned to muffle a bit of it. The theatre was clean though, and was nicely spaced out. Not sure if we would come back for IMAX, it wasn't worth the price, DUNE was pretty good though if you heard it.nnFor those who want a more exclusive experience, the VIP addition is a must-try. The Cineplex Cinemas Yonge-Dundas and VIP offer a VIP experience for movie-goers that is worth the additional cost. The VIP section is well-designed, and the seats are comfortable, making the movie-watching experience enjoyable. The menu at the seats is a nice touch, and customers can order food and beverages from their seats. The staff member delivers the food and beverages to the seat, which is convenient for customers, and we ordered several beers for the group and a 'First Class' fishbowl, which was a great experience overall. Customers can order food and beverages from their seats, and a staff member will deliver the items to them. Even if you arrive late, you can still order outside and eat later or at the seats. The only downside is the location of the bathrooms outside the 19+ area, which may be inconvenient for some customers.nnNote, one downside of Cineplex is the new charge for online booking, which may be a turn-off for some moviegoers. However, there is a way to save some money by purchasing tickets in person. Another option is the CineClub Movie Subscription Program, which is available for $9.99 per month and waives the online booking fee. Members can enjoy one regular admission ticket every month with no expiration date. A limited number of tickets are also available for $9.99 for the same booking.
