Real Canadian Superstore Calgary 6th Ave

One of the things I like about the Real Canadian Superstore is their huge selection of meat. Seafood, chicken, pork and of course this beautiful blade steak! Unfortunately, prices are outrageous but, Superstore often has amazing deals and this is one of them!nSuperstore is clean, brightly lit with usually extremely helpful if staff speaks English.nThe best part of Superstore in addition to the their huge selection, wide aisles and shopping carts is their fantastic prices!nFor struggling shoppers and families, this is a Godsend.nSuperstore also has an incredible Flashfood App for even more savings up to 50% off.

One of my favourite grocery stores and grocery chain. The Real Canadian Superstore is huge with its ethnic and traditional Canadian faire. There are always sales at Superstore with plenty of fresh produce, meats and fish plus vegan and organic featured sections. There really isn’t anything that Superstore doesn’t carry or can’t get in. The SAVINGS is the best part for all Canadians! RCSS has affiliates like No Frills Wholesale Club, Tiger Brand, etc. and are all over the city! Highly recommended.

I've come here a few times over the years and have to remind myself each time not to come back. If you live on the east side of downtown this place is probably your best bet for cheaper shopping, but if you're on the west side of downtown there are other superstores you can get to. Firstly there are lots of people I know who don't necessarily feel overly safe here. I think it is better now and there are definitely security guards that make themselves visible.nSecondly, I've never found this store to be well-stocked. I came here for batteries the other day and they virtually had three selections. I came here for canned tomatoes today and they were all out of the brand that I wanted. And there were many cans of many different items that would damaged and dinged.nTo their credit they do have some interesting items that come through that I don't see at other superstores - like this week they have some great frozen burritos.nIt's also never that busy here, thankfully.nThe underground parking is also a very simple process and there are always many spaces.nOverall not a bad option if this is all you have but if you can spend a few minutes to drive to another Superstore you'll find other stores are cleaner, feel safer and better stocked.

I usually don't feel compelled enough to write customer reviews on the internet, but this time is different, I love my bread—your guessed right, I am a bread guy, and I can't go one day without it. Therefore, I do would specifically share my experience dealing with Superstore east downtown Calgary, and specifically about Elda, the bakery department. In an era where most of these big store chains' customer service comes across as transactional; Elda stands out as a genuine leader who cares thus makes a significant difference!nnFrom the moment you approach the bakery counter, you can see the positive impact Elda has on the entire department. The cases are always well-stocked, clean, correctly tagged with a beautiful variety of fresh bread, desserts, and many other seasonal items. More importantly, the team under Elda's guidance is consistently helpful, knowledgeable and cheerful, I would say a direct reflection of their supervision—ask me about the contagious and undeniable impact of your boss at work. I even worked at Superstore NE myself, nineteen years ago.nnThank you, Elda for your consistent customer-first attitude. To me, you exemplify what a department supervisor should: skilled, supportive and dedicated. Keep it up, leading by example.

Being an American, this Superstore totally blew me away—it's like a better, more organized version of a Walmart Supercenter. They have a massive selection of groceries and household stuff; it literally has it all! Even the shopping carts and baskets are surprisingly well-designed compared to the basic ones in the States, haha. We really appreciated the 'Made in Canada' labels and chose to buy those to support the local economy. I'm definitely hitting up another one of these stores before I leave!nnThe only downside was the area around the store. There were a lot of homeless people hanging out outside, and some boarded-up windows on the ground floor. Security was visible and kept everything safe inside, so it didn't affect our shopping experience at all. The store itself was a 10/10!
