Real Canadian Superstore on the east side of downtown near East Village is convenient and a good option overall with the lack of options for grocery stores downtown. The free heated underground parkade and pickup area make shopping easy year-round. Huge selection, plenty of options, full service pharmacy, and a great choice for larger grocery hauls.

As I required to do some business in the downtown core as well as shopping today, this location worked out perfectly. Superstore's location to both the east end of the C-train's downtown free zone along with their free customer parking made for a marriage made in heaven. Got everything accomplished by noon while enjoying safe free parking throughout the venture with no stress watching the clock, worrying about the expirations of the parking meters or costs of the dreaded metro maid violations. PERFECT. Will surely use this convenience more often.

The Real Canadian Superstore on 6th Ave in Calgary is a solid spot. Underground parking is convenient, and the store is generally clean and well-organized. Sometimes there are homeless people inside, and I hope the store can do something to improve this situation. I did notice the security handles things professionally. Prices here are better than other locations, and overall shopping is smooth and easy. Definitely a good place to shop.

One of the things I like about the Real Canadian Superstore is their huge selection of meat. Seafood, chicken, pork and of course this beautiful blade steak! Unfortunately, prices are outrageous but, Superstore often has amazing deals and this is one of them!nSuperstore is clean, brightly lit with usually extremely helpful if staff speaks English.nThe best part of Superstore in addition to the their huge selection, wide aisles and shopping carts is their fantastic prices!nFor struggling shoppers and families, this is a Godsend.nSuperstore also has an incredible Flashfood App for even more savings up to 50% off.

While I was so happy that they opened a Superstore downtown to increase our convenience in getting groceries, that happiness was very short lived as I usually do not shop at this Superstore for the following reasons:nnThis Superstore is in a high crime area located in between 3 homeless shelters and I just don't feel very comfortable in that neighborhood.. Even the police were not comfortable there as they moved their police station several kilometres away. So if you are a victim of a crime there's no longer any police station there to file your report. nnTo get a better understanding of this. neighborhood, just read the Google Maps reviews of the nearby C-Train stations and nearby businesses, buildings etc...nnThere is no secure place to lock one's bike at this Superstore despite the numerous security guards hired to guard the store. My bike was stolen two blocks away from the store when I locked it for 1 hour in front of the Main Public Library.nnThey should have an indoor bike lock up in the lobby, and maybe the store entrance security guard can sort of keep an eye on it.nnI also feel uncomfortable parking on the street in front of the store as I haven't figured out how to park underground for free. Will the store give me a free parking token/pass if they don't have what I need in stock, resulting my not buying anything?nnLast Thursday I wanted to buy a few higher cost items in the Superstore flyer, and this Superstore did not have any of the flyer items I wanted. I needed to spend $300 at one time in one Superstore to qualify for several PC points offers and other store gift offers, which puts this store at a great disadvantage as it is a much smaller Superstore, with a much smaller and more limited selection of items to choose from, and a smaller stock of those items so it runs out of stock, quicker. nnThough I prefer the layout of this downtown store for the ease of finding things, over the other Superstores, it is not practical for buying larger purchases and larger amounts of groceries. and seasonal items.nnThe non sale regular shelf prices at this downtown superstore are often 10% or more, higher than other Superstores I guess to pay for the additional security, so it is just easier and more practical for me to spend an extra 20 min on the LRT or bus to go to a different larger, cheaper Superstore.
