I recently had the opportunity to visit the Real Canadian Superstore on 6th Street in downtown Calgary, and I must say, my experience was a mix of positive and negative aspects.nnFirst and foremost, the store itself is quite impressive. The architecture is modern and striking, which immediately caught my attention as I approached the building. It's clear that a lot of thought went into the design, making it a visually appealing location to shop. Once inside, I found the store to be exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The aisles were orderly, products were neatly arranged, and the overall environment felt fresh and welcoming. This level of cleanliness is certainly commendable and made navigating the store a pleasant experience.nnHowever, there were a couple of significant downsides that I feel compelled to mention. The most notable issue was the staff. Unfortunately, the employees I interacted with were not helpful. When I sought assistance, I was met with indifference and a lack of engagement, which was disappointing. Customer service is a crucial aspect of any shopping experience, and the unhelpful attitude of the staff detracted from my overall impression of the store.nnAnother concern was the area outside the store. There were a lot of junkies around, which made the surroundings feel somewhat unsafe. While this is not directly under the store's control, it does affect the overall experience of visiting the location. As someone who values a secure and pleasant shopping environment, this was a significant drawback for me.nnRegarding parking, I cannot provide any information as I visited the store on my scooter and did not need to use the parking facilities. However, based on my observation, the store seems to have ample parking space, which is a positive note for those who drive.nnIn summary, while the Real Canadian Superstore on 6th Street in downtown Calgary has many positive attributes, including its impressive architecture and high level of cleanliness, the unhelpful staff and the presence of junkies outside the store negatively impacted my experience. These factors are the main reasons why I can only give this store a 3-star rating. If the store can address the issues with customer service and improve the safety around the premises, it has the potential to provide a much better shopping experience.
This is a really good superstore near city hall station. It’s central and easy to get to. It’s not as big as other superstores but I still find it better than Safeways around downtown.nnI usually get okra from here that is much cheaper than Safeway one.
It's a good-to-go store. I enjoy they always 5$ croissant pack wich a really good value as it includes 12 fresh croissants made the same day. There's good deals from time to time that just pop out. You just have to look for them. I definitely recommend it. The produce, as is in a more concurred area, is not looked out often by the workers, so there's fruits and vegetables that are smashed or gotten rotten.
If I could give this a zero, I would.nnPC EXPRESS. This service is horrendous at this location. Heavy items stacked on top of chips or soft vegetables. The vegetables are already on their last legs so you have barely a day to use them before they're off cilantro, basil, green onions etc. Substitutions where you specified 'no substitutions'. And the delivery drivers are ***unbelievable***. 'You need to come help me because you have 4 boxes. You must understand'. Excuse me? You're a delivery driver, if you can't deliver, then get another job? 'Come down to help me'. What? I've had my groceries left in the vestibule of my building without notification before. I have done the surveys and, at the end of the survey, selected OK to being contacted by Superstore for a followup. They've never done it. I understand this may be a third party delivery service but that's not my problem. They still represent PC. The entitlement of these guys.nnMuch like others here, I hate being treated like a criminal and asked to view the receipt upon leaving, especially when you watched me check out and I am holding it in my hand. However, legally I know they cannot do anything, so I say no and leave the store. Or being followed around the store. I'm sure the staff are doing their best in a challenging environment but as a consumer, this place is pretty bad.
I’ve never liked Superstore but I like THIS downtown Superstore. It’s really clean, organized, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. One time I didn’t have a loonie for a shopping cart but the service desk kindly provided a small token. This staff and management do “the little things” that we don’t often see in large corporate grocery stores.nnI love the large selection of organic products and produce! Also great is the availability of products from diverse cultures and countries.nnThere’s excellent underground parking with a touchscreen upstairs to enter license plate.nnDespite the location, I never feel unsafe inside the store or in the well lite and maintained garage.
