Someone needs to do a better job of checking for expired products. Numerous times I have brought products home that are expired. I have even seen products on shelves that have been expired for more than a month. I’m usually good at checking for myself now, but accidentally brought home yet another expired product today. Today is Jan 23, and the product pictured expired Jan 12. This is a health hazard and happens way too often at this store.
Great selection of fruits and vegetables. Not busy at 7am when it opens. Store is clean and well stocked. Only issue I have is pricing. The same items I buy at No Frills are almost twice the price at this Safeway.
I have been wrongfully ticketed by Diamond Parking while doing groceries at this unit. I highly recommend Safeway to review it's contract with such company as they're ticketing legit customers illegally.nDiamond Parking refused to cancel the ticket, even upon presentation of Safeway purchase receipt and respecting the 1 hour limit.nI will not visit this or any other Safeway / Sobeys unit until this ticket is removed from this shady company.
Went in to this Safeway to buy Milk, eggs...etc. My Daughter took our Dog for a walk to pee. We both came back at the same time and there was a $80 parking ticket on our truck. I went in and talked to the Asst. Manager and explained the situation and showed him my receipt. He said He would take care of it. Then months later a nasty letter arrived from Diamond parking demanding now $120 for the parking ticket. Again I went in this Safeway and ask about it. The Manager in training said He would take care of it. Now another coup[le months later We are being called by a collection agency in Langley about this debt. The calls are usually quite nasty and threatening. Basically Management here can not be taken on their word. We used to spend $3k a month here between the Grocery store and the Liquor Store. Even thou it is a bit further, We have started going to the Co-Op on 11th and 11th. It has a much better selection and pricing, plus parking is not an issue.
tldr: very rude customer service and terrible treatment.nnI had a weird situation with a parking ticket went to the store to try and appeal. But the employee refused to even listen to what I had to say unless I ticket and receipt. I of course had a reason for this but I was not allowed to explain because I was being constantly dismissed. How do you expect me to explain myself. It took a third party calling customer service and asking them to talk to me for the staff to just listening to me. This review has very little to do with the stupid parking tickets, but everything with the incredibly disrespectful behaviour showcased. Telling people to go away when theyre trying to get a appeal a wrongful ticket is incredibly unprofessional. So I would not recommend shopping here unless you want random completely unjustified tickets, and rude treatment from staff. This was my go to store but after this I will avoid this place as much as possible.
