Cute, delicious lunch place with charming local feel. Several signature classic sandwiches to choose from and a daily hot dish. Today's beef stroganoff warmed my insides from the the sample bite. The owner is adorable and had the most wonderful suggestion when I hesitated between rice and mashed potatoes as the base to the daily special, "half and half?" he said. I shamelessly ordered double carbs because after all, it was chef recommended ;) Eat a yummy lunch and support this local guy.

If you want delicious, home-cooked meals, at reasonable prices in a quiet, cafe environment, with friendly customer service, then you must go to Nizzy's Cafe in South Burnaby. I have been coming here for years since beginning my job in the Glenlyon Business park. There isn't anything on the menu that I don't like -- honestly! My favorite wrap is the Santa Fe Chicken. My favorite sandwich is the Turkey Cranberry. His "Hot Lunch" menu is always delicious: roasted chicken, cordon bleu chicken, salsbury steak, lasagna, lemon-grass fish, beef curry, stir-fries -- all with sides of either rice, mashed potatoes, and veggies. His sirloin burgers are always juicy and tasty. FIsh and chips are perfectly battered and crispy on the outside, cooked to perfection on the inside. And the other reviewer who mentioned his Roast Beef? Not a word of a lie - it is AWESOME! SO tender and thinly sliced with gravy -- definitely a local favorite! But the best part about Nizzy's Cafe is Nizzy himself: He is a total sweetheart. If you're looking for something that's not on his menu, let him know, and he will do his best to create your meal. Right now I am restricting my carbs, so he always gives me the Hot Lunch item with a salad on the side. One day I walked in there and saw a new item on the Hot Lunch menu: Chicken Adobo (Filipino people will know what I'm talking about). Why this new dish? Because two ladies who are regulars and work around the corner from Nizzy gave him their recipe -- and the next day he made it. It was delicious!!! That's just the kind of guy Nizzy is. You have to come here, I promise you will not be disappointed!

Gourmet food. Excellent service. Friendly owner and staff. I work close by and Nizzy's is my top favourite source for lunch. The food is delicious and varies every day, they also make amazing burgers and quesadillas.

this place is amazing, i work very close to here. for the price of a Mc Donald's meal you could be eating home cooked food.
