This is a very convenient hotel if you're traveling via YUL, great runways views. They have room service and a lounge in the lobby across from the front desk.nMy room was very spacious, lot of room to walk freely, nice wide glass windows looking at runway.
Hicham, manager at Montreal Marriott airport hotel and Jay, his coworker were so helpful in making our stay incredible. They were so accommodating and the hotel industry really needs more people like them. I appreciated their help very much.
My second time staying here at Marriot. I really enjoyed my stay the first time and had the opportunity to come back for a second.nnI forgot to bring my credit card with me for the room hold so $200 refundable was placed on my debit card - which is reasonable. I was explained by the concierge at check in to call 30 mins prior to my check out to have someone come and check the room and if all is well, then the $200 refund can be processed in person upon check out.nnI did exactly that this morning. Called the concierge and was told exactly the same as what the personnel told me last night. I wait patiently in my room, 30 minutes passed and no one came so I went downstairs. On my way down, I met with two maids who were cleaning up other rooms on the same floor as myself. Once I got downstairs, I was met with a very rude staff at the front desk and repeatedly told me “No, the staff members will not enter the room when you’re in there. Of course you will need to come out before they go”, I told her that was not what was communicated to me two different times by two different staff members and she repeated herself one more time. It wasn’t until I said “Then it was miscommunicated to me” that she paused and said “Yes, it was but you need to leave the room for them to check” She was really rude and lacked interpersonal skills. I was advised that she will send someone now, it will take about 15 minutes and she will call me once it is done so we can process the refund.nnNo calls came through and two hours from my first initial call has passed - an hour and half after I spoke with front desk personnel in person, I returned to the front desk for a follow up where the same rude staff member said “I looked for you and couldn’t find you” and began to process my refund.nnWhat happened to calling me?nIf I did not have business to attend to, was the expectation for me to just wait around? That would have been a 45 minutes wait time IF what was communicated to me was actually done when it was stated.
The female concierge during the night shift made our stay uncomfortable, prompting us to leave early due to the staff's lack of hospitality and poor treatment.nnWe kindly request an improvement in your client servicing and conflict resolution skills and advise against making assumptions before obtaining all the facts. We remained polite from the very beginning and throughout, yet encountered hostile behavior in return.nnHaving previously worked in the fast-food industry during night shifts at the start of my career, I fully understand the demands of delivering exceptional customer service and the level of resilience required. I would have managed the situation much differently, and representing Marriott's brand in a positive, pleasant, and professional manner.nnIt is pretty simple: treat people with decency, kindness, and compassion.
This review is specifically for Adrianna who went above and beyond for my partner and I visited the lounge around 8:30pm on a Wednesday night after we missed our connecting flight. We had a horrible string of events in our life recently and she could tell that we were upset and showed how much she truly cares about us. She asked us what happened and wanted to listen. She was the first person to show us some compassion and sympathy during a difficult time. She listened and shared some encouraging words while still attending with other guests and keeping the lounge stocked and clean. Such a beautiful soul. Thank-you Adrianna for bringing some light to us during this difficult period.
