People were friendly and we stayed in our camper however we had family staying in cabins. First cabin had an odd smell but second was fine. There before spring/summer so weather wasn't great but they seem to have plenty of things to do for families. Close to highway so convenient. Plus close to our family who live in area which was way we were there. Not a lot if time spent at campground. Thinking it could get very very busy during warmer seasons. Playground: Lots if play areas plus swimming and fishing pond. Dog-friendliness: Not very busy while we were there so we had plenty of dog walking space.
Had a wonderful time spent the weekend for my son's 8th birthday lots of fun activities like mini golf, glow dance party, tie dye, biking, arts & crafts, fishing, swimming & More! Very clean bathrooms and showers! Stayed in a cabin and we loved every minute of it.Rooms: 5/5
I had reservations, I paid the $60. to reserve my rustic camping spot. Unfortunately we were short handed at work so I was not able to keep my camping trip. I sent my notice of cancelation via E-mail as I have in the past. This time I was told over the phone my deposit was forfeited due to the 48 hour cancelation window. How convenient and a good way to screw honest people out of their money. I will never camp at this dump again.
There is so much to say about this place. First of all- we love it! A lot to for all ages. Playground is located right by the beach. Clean sand to enjoy. A basketball court with two nets, a snack shop , but its usually a long wait, bike paths, cabins for all size families, tent sites, a water slide, and clean swilling water! Sometimes the fire rings can be in bad places.
Our experience this past Weekend was one of the worst at this particular campground. It was definitely the campers some older children trashed the bathroom's and knocked over the porter potties and had the nerve to put it on tik tok! One of the staff who was brown Address the issue to management only for the guest to receive a warning Like had it been anyone else ooooooweeeee... Very rude children ,one teenage girl pushed my 4 year old granddaughter just to get candy. That's when I had enough! I definitely had to put her in her place . But I don't think I will return again. on a more positive note they do have a awesome Halloween layout!
Sites are really tight, grounds are not maintained, we were in a “premium” site which was all dirt. It looks as though basic maintenance has been neglected for a while. Staff is not courteous, they also have an odd entry booth stopping all vehicles entering the campground causing a constant traffic back up. If you can get a campsite elsewhere-you should.
Thought this was an excellent campground for the money. Was tidy, clean, and well staffed. Sites were close together, but still felt we had privacy, all very close to the beach and bathrooms. Park has a waterslide that was very fun to go down, clean beach and lots of other fun activities. Store was well stocked with essentials and reasonably priced. Firewood bundles are small, but priced accordingly, so buy double what you think you might need. There is a small beautiful town nearby to pick up essentials. They give out free pancakes on weekends which was very cool however the lady did question my wife if our 2 year old was really gonna eat them. Ohio border is real close. All in all, a great campground! You can tell when staff take pride in their work, and this is evident here!! Will return for sure!
Excellent camp ground. We stayed on site 162A which was perfect for my fishing loving boy! We were right across from fishing pond. It felt like we were camping right on the water. We were a short walk to anything else that we wanted to do. The water slide was a blast the swimming lake was perfect and not over crowded. The staff was amazing and all of the activities were fun! 10/10 highly recommended!
They advertised a carnival weekend but only had a very small carnival during a two hour window Saturday afternoon. The activities they had planned was Saturday morning/afternoon and due to the 3pm check-in my daughter wasn't able to participate in any of the activities. The carnival was a waste of money, they allowed me to buy a wrist band knowing it was about to close so I paid $20 for popcorn and a cotton candy. Everything else was shut down when we got to it. Couldn't do the face paint, couldn't ride the pony, couldn't jump in the bounce house, couldn't do the dunk tank or feed the 3 animals. The lake was full of seaweed and the slide was closed. Our cabin had huge ants that crawled on us while we slept, so didn't sleep much that night. Other than that we had a great time
Very nice campground! They have a ton for kids and adults to do. We went during one of their Halloween weekends and it was really cool. People go all out decorating their sites. The staff was very nice and super helpful. We have already booked our next campsite in a couple of weeks! Only downfall is that KOA makes you pay an additional fee to know what site you will be on and you don't find out until you show up.
