Today I bought some embroidery canvas here. I traveled all the way from Saint-Eustache. When I got home, I opened the package and saw this. Someone had clearly used it. Be careful and inspect the item immediately after purchase.
Bryce — possibly the rudest employee I have ever encountered. I attempted to return one item a $5 item from a $125 purchase and was told it could not be returned because it was supposedly on liquidation. There was no liquidation tag on the item, on the shelf, or on my invoice, yet I was told this was “not their fault.”nnDuring the interaction, Bryce rolled his eyes and physically put his hands on another employee who was apologizing and explaining that, as a customer, there was no way I could have known the item was on liquidation.nnThis is not about the value of the item—it is about the extremely poor level of customer service and lack of basic professionalism and human decency.
This Michael’s is nice. It is clean and the staff are friendly. I went twice in the past week looking for summer activities for my kids and for tie dye supplies.nnThey have lots of summer activities for kids to do and lots on sale or clearance.nnThey were out of stock on some of the sizes of jerseys I wanted but they had a lot of the tie dye in stock.nnThe staff speak both French and English which is great as I am not a French speaker.nnWhen I went it was not busy at all which was nice. Easy to shop without lots of people around. Masks are mandatory there is hand sanitizer at the entrance.nnThere is lots of parking and this Michael’s is in the same area as some other big stores.
The cashier applied a discount, which I appreciated.nnHowever, after scanning my items, he took a bag, placed it on the counter, and did not bag the purchase or ask if I needed assistance. I was left to bag everything myself without explanation.nnIf self-bagging is the policy, that should be communicated. Otherwise, this felt careless and unprofessional.nnService matters, even for small purchases
There are no words to express just how terrible the experience was at this location. Sadly, it wasnt my first time there, however this time i learned my lesson. I will never be back. The absolute worst staff I have ever encountered anywhere.
