We are a family owned funeral provider serving West & North Vancouver. Our family offers cremation, celebration of life planning, and burial services.

Story

Here at McKenzie Funeral Services, we know keeping memories of your loved one alive in your mind and heart is an important part of your healing journey, one that begins with a funeral or memorial service. For over 40 years we have served the families of Vancouver's North Shore and the Sea to Sky Corridor. McKenzie Funeral Services was established in 2011 on requests from local clergy and families. We are the North Shore's only Canadian and Family owned funeral provider and value the respect and needs of every family.

Mission

We bring a Tradition of Trust to the North Shore and West Vancouver to help each family with the first step on their grief journey. We honor each family's individual grief journey to create a meaningful and personal tribute to their loved one. We are just the stepping stone onto the grief path and we are here to support them every step of the way.

McKenzie Funeral Services is top tier...We were originally thinking of going with a local funeral home but then found out that it was owned by a Corporation...Mark and George McKenzie attended to our every need with grace and humility...We would recommend McKenzie Funeral Services to anyone who is in this sad stage in life...You do need people like the McKenzie's to guide you as they are the professionals and they know all the in's and out's of the process...Even helping out with Government paperwork...They are there to help you with all of your concerns and their approach is very gentle...Also, they are the only family owned business that we know of and that made for a very positive experience...You will always have a real person answers your calls..no matter the time...Not an answering service that has to pass on your message...If you need funeral services the McKenzie family is there for you...We will recommend them to family and friends with confidence...

My siblings and I can’t begin to thank George, Mark and the wonderful staff at McKenzie Funeral Services enough. They were instrumental in helping us through two difficult losses (our father in 2013 and our mother in 2017) by gently guiding us through the steps required. Their genuine care and concern for our family, not to mention their knowledge and experience were appreciated beyond words. They came highly recommended to us and now we know why. For anyone dealing with loss, I would recommend McKenzie Funeral Services without hesitation.

I would highly recommend McKenzie Funeral Services. They helped me out in a very professional manner with everything when my father passed away. George was absolutely wonderful!

After finding out my father was terminal and being transferred to North Shore Hospice I called a few larger ,well advertised funeral providers that were not forthcoming on costs nor where my Dad would be taken after his death, I was relieved when my first call to McKenzie Funeral Services reached George the owner. He answered all of my questions straight up with compassion for our situation. I was comforted to know my dad would be taken to their home in Squamish. Yes they live upstairs from the facility !  My call was followed up with a personal email from George's son Mark with all the prices and the necessary paperwork needed to have everything in order.  My father was part of the planning and commented how relieved he was that we were supported by the McKenzie Family. Dad even cracked a smile when I said his last road trip would be on the Sea to Sky Highway with the rest of us in convoy behind him. When my father passed away a few months later George was the one to answer my call and arrange for his son in law to pick Dad up from Hospice. We were allowed to be a part of this process including the trip with Dad to Squamish for our final goodbye.  The MFS website page and all newspaper obituaries were handled for us with no surprises or tacky up-selling.  I recommend them whole heartedly for your or a loved one's final stage of this life.
