Lee Valley Tools Ltd

An exceptionally well-calibrated retail and sourcing infrastructure that caters perfectly to precise mechanical and material specifications. While standard hardware outlets focus on high-turnover consumer-grade options, this facility provides genuine industrial quality with an impressive component selection.nI recently sourced a set of high-carbon steel cutting tools, micro-calibration gauges, and specialized low-tolerance fastening hardware for a precise mechanical rebuild. The metallurgical quality and structural integrity of their inventory are consistently high-spec. The layout is clean and logical, with zero unnecessary lifestyle clutter. What stands out is the technical competence of the counter staff - they understand engineering tolerances, thread pitches & material stress profiles without needing a catalog look-up. A mandatory, highly reliable asset for any professional developer or technician in the GTA who demands absolute spatial and structural accuracy.

I went to Lee Valley hoping to find hinges for our kitchen cabinets. The originals had become loose and one of them had broken. After taking the number, I was attended promptly by a very friendly gentleman who walked me to the display and showed all of the options and then recommended one of them based on the old ones that I brought with me and also the photos.nnPrior to this, I had visited another Orange hardware store and those hinges didn't fit properly. In the 1st store when I asked someone for assistance, the rep basically said to me that he doesn't work in that department and continued walking away from me. I returned these ones and then went to Lee Valley Tools on Morrison.nnSo, I was a bit skeptical about these also but fairly confident as well, based on the service rep's recommendation at Lee Valley that these will fit. This representative at Lee Valley opened the packaging, compared them to the old hinges, took his time to show me all of the adjustments and angles etc.nnI came home and installed the new ones from Lee Valley. They fit nearly perfectly and I was done installing the whole thing within 30 minutes.nnLee Valley is a Canadian company based out of Ottawa. Their employees have been working there for a long time - it seems. I've known about this company for a long time, but went in today for the 1st time. I was treated well as a customer and the suggested solution, the product that they sold solved my problem fully - and received old-style warm and customer service that doesn't seem to exist in most big box places anymore.nnI will repeat with these guys again. I encourage everyone to go in and take a look at gardening supplies, tools, parts and woodworking stuff they they carry.

Great selection of tools and gardening supplies. Excellent service from the very knowledgeable representative Leigh. She was patient and helpful explaining all of the different options and assisted in loading everything in the vehicle.

I am writing this review to celebrate salesmanship. Walter helped us at the counter check-out yesterday, and was such a fine salesman, that we bought more than the rain barrel we came for.nnThe special thing about Walter is that he is empathetic, articulate, kind, and personable. The boost of our experience was that he was willing to help us understand how we could adapt the rain barrel to our situation. He went out of his way to ensure that we understood specifications and hand drawings that he offered to us. It was fortunate that the counter was not busy at that time of day, because he was so able to spend time with us. Our needs were more than met. We were laughing when we left.ngosh a very nice Lee Valley experience indeed.

If you are a hobby woodworker in Canada/Ottawa this is your store. Veritas makes some of the best hand tools in the world. All sorts of hardware you can't get anywhere else. You can still find lots of Chinese crap here, but much less so than elsewhere.
