I had a fantastic dinner at Jin Dal Lae on Bloor St. West and can’t recommend it enough! Everything from the food to the hospitality was top-notch.nnThe FoodnPork Bone Soup Gamjatang: This was the star of the show. It had a really unique, deep flavor that stands out from other places. The portion size was massive—they definitely don’t skimp on the meat!nnSeafood Pancake Haemul Pajeon: Perfectly nice and crispy, just the way it should be. It paired perfectly with the dipping sauce.nnBanchan Side Dishes: They provide a great mix of vegetable side dishes that were all fresh and seasoned perfectly.nnThe ServicenWhat really made the night special was our waiter, Kim. I realized the pork bone soup was a bit too spicy for my palate, and Kim was incredibly kind—he actually brought out some extra mild broth to help tone it down!nnOn top of that, they were very generous with the appetizers, offering us another round of side dishes on the house without us even asking.
recently had dinner at Jin Dal Lae on Bloor Street West, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. If you're looking for authentic, delicious, and heartwarming Korean food, this is the place to go.nFrom the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. It felt like stepping into a family-run spot that truly cares about its food and customers.nWe tried a few dishes, and every single one was a standout. The Soon Tofu Jjigae soft tofu stew was incredible – bubbling hot, perfectly spiced, and packed with flavor. It was the ultimate comfort food. We also had the Bulgogi, which was tender, savory, and cooked to perfection. The banchan side dishes that came with the meal were fresh, varied, and all delicious, especially the kimchi.nThe service was just as wonderful as the food – friendly, attentive, and quick.nnThey put a lot of love into what they do’nnJin Dal Lae is is good and not overly flashy, but it delivers authentic flavors at a good value.
My new favorite Korean spot in all of Toronto.nnCame here on a Saturday around 2pm, restaurant was pretty busy and took 15ish minutes to get a table for 2. There's around 8-9 tables inside, so if you have a big party be prepared to wait a little bit.nnOrdered the sizzling pork hot plate, the portion sizes are very generous for the price and the flavor is excellent. The dish is very flavorful, but not too spicy, and pairs great with the white rice. The proportion of fatty to lean pork was great, not too oily and not too dry. They give 6 side dishes, the kimchi and raddish were my favorite, texture was perfectly crunchy.nnThe lady working I assume is the owner was very nice, checked in to see how the food was and offered to refill any side dishes complimentary.nnOverall, excellent Korean spot with authentic flavors, great service, and excellent portions for the price.
Great meal. But I’m Korean, my bar is high for goooood good Korean. Was good food but for me, average across the Korean restaurant landscape. Would still recommend for great selection of traditional Korean eats! Top recommendation out of 7 dishes was the Korean pancake by far!
My favourite restaurant for classic Korean food in K-Town and they have one of the best seafood pancakes. There's sometimes a line during the lunch and dinner rushed so be prepared to wait. Service is efficient but not particularly friendly.
