I chose to celebrate a very special occasion here with my fiancée after proposing to her last night, and the experience could not have been more perfect.nnAdolfo handled my reservation and truly delivered on his promise to take care of us, securing what felt like the best table in the house. Our server, Malwina, was outstanding, warm, attentive, and went above and beyond to make the evening feel truly special.nnThe food was exceptional, beautifully presented, and full of flavor, while the ambiance created the perfect setting for such an important night. Between the atmosphere, cuisine, and remarkable service, this was an unforgettable experience that exceeded all expectations. I’m deeply grateful to the team for making our celebration so memorable. Highly recommended.
La Vecchia is a hidden gem in Etobicoke. There isn't one single aspect of this restaurant that isn't genuine Italian. From the food and flavours, to the restaurant design, menu, staff and culture. It was beautiful to get to experience that for the night and I see this restaurant being successful for a very long, long time.nnThe food was delicious, there wasn't one moment when the staff weren't refilling your water and making sure you were happy and satisfied, and with the beautiful atmosphere I couldn't help but give this rating 5 stars. I'd give more stars if I could.nnIf you love Italian food or just want to experience a culture at its finest, I'd highly recommend stopping by.
Went for brunch and everything was delicious! We started with the bruschetta and beef carpaccio, then shared the Linguine alla Carbonara and Sophia Pizza. The pizza was phenomenal — perfectly balanced in flavor — while the carbonara didn’t quite stand out as much. Scott’s service and charisma elevated the entire experience with his warm welcome and excellent recommendations. Highly recommend!
Dining at La Vecchia feels like stepping into a classic Italian film—elegant, vibrant, and full of charm. The atmosphere is a perfect blend of upscale and cozy, with a romantic old-world vibe that instantly reminded me of Sophia Loren’s timeless grace. Every detail—from the stylish decor to the ambient lighting—whispers La Dolce Vita.nnThe food? Absolutely spectacular. Fresh ingredients, rich flavors, and beautifully plated dishes. I had the seafood pasta and it was cooked to perfection—flavorful, balanced, and authentically Italian.nnThe service was impeccable—warm, attentive, and professional without being overbearing. You really feel taken care of.
I recently visited La Vecchia with a reservation, and while the restaurant itself is very beautiful, the experience didn’t quite meet my expectations.nnWhen we arrived, surprisingly, there was a line for reservations where you had to “check in” as if it were a waiting list. What bothered me most was that people who arrived after us were being seated first, despite our earlier reservation and arrival. After waiting for about 25 minutes, I finally expressed my frustration to the host, and only then were we seated—nearly half an hour later. So even with a reservation, you should expect to wait.nnThe restaurant is extremely busy, which creates a lively vibe but also makes it quite noisy, making conversation a bit difficult. The service wasn’t terrible, but it also wasn’t the best.nnFor drinks, I ordered a cocktail with mango and chili notes. It was nicely presented with the chili on the side and tasted good, slightly spicy, but not something that really stood out.nnFor starters, we had the Polpo alla Griglia. This was absolutely delicious—the potato purée was tasty, but the flavor of the octopus was outstanding. Honestly, it was the highlight of the night and I highly recommend it.nnFor mains, we tried the Linguini Mare, which was generous with seafood and overall enjoyable, though it definitely needed more salt. We also ordered the Risotto Siciliano, but unfortunately it lacked flavor, even after adding salt. It was disappointing and not something I’d order again.nnTo end the night, we had the Tiramisù, which was excellent—the coffee flavor really came through, and it was a delicious way to finish the meal.nnOverall, the restaurant is beautiful and I can see why it’s popular, but my expectations were higher. That being said, I would give it another chance, maybe next time trying their pizza, which looked very tempting.
