I arrived at 9:30 AM after a bad fall, stayed till 12:30, was seen by a physio and doctor, and had x-rays of the knee and ankle. They also asked about tetanus shots but mine were up to date. It went relatively fast and everyone there was efficient, esp. the radiologists. The doctor was very empathetic and kept telling me that he understood my pain, which--weirdly--made me feel better. The only suggestion I'd make is that when they call people over the intercom to present themselves to the nurses' station or to Room 3, or whatever, 1 they should get someone who can enunciate, not someone who mumbles... All of us in the waiting room were laughing or feeling anxious about that because you'd hear the name of the person being summoned, and then mumblemumblemumble and everybody felt lost and wasn't sure where to go. 2 When you ask someone to go to the nurse's station, be there to greet them. Instead you're met by nurses who don't answer you and leave you standing there until the doctor appears. A little kindness, please. I get that everyone's very busy, but for some of us, it's our first time there, and we don't understand how it works. But other than that, it was good. They see a lot of people quickly, from what I observed.
I hurt my leg and I needed stitches for that, so I went to the ER and they made me wait for 11 hours! I arrived there at 9:30PM and left at 8:30AM.nAt 2AM we were only six people in the waiting room left and they only called us around 6:45AM, I really don't understand why it took them so long to call other patients in? Then, after they called me I had to stay over 1 hour in the consult room to get a doctor to see me. The doctor was very nice though, but the organization was awful.nAnd, the WORST part? The consult room was disgusting. There was so much dirt, even a cleaning machine and blood from other patients that was on the table where they put the things to cure me... I am very very disappointed with this. I have attached pictures. The very least you can ask for a hospital is for it to be clean.
First time here! Good emergency hospital in Montreal. Yes wait times are long 4-5 hours but better than other places, stay patient & communicate clearly what you need, they will go above & beyond to make sure you get the best service & care possible. The only things that some of the stuff not professional in communication and not clear what they do!
I had intense headaches for over a week along with jaw pain. A doctor at a walk-in clinic advised me to go to the emergency room due to the persistent headaches and high blood pressure. However, after waiting more than 10 hours at the hospital, the doctor there simply told me to take Advil.
Came to Montreal for site seeing and enjoy a few days of vacay on May 29th. My first night I ended up in the Emergency dept. I want to send a huge THANK YOU to everyone there. The professionalism and care I received I have never experienced before. Thank you for all the TLC.
