We came here to try out marinated crabs and marinated raw beef, we also ordered seafood pancake and beef rib soup. Marinated crabs are too sweet for our liking. Raw beef is okay, but again, it's too sweet as well. Beef soup is so so, broth is salty, and beef is bland. Seafood pancake is too thick. Price is quite expensive and food isn't worth it. Servers seemed nice but not attentive. We ordered some meat dishes for grilling, but they forgot our order. They also forgot to give us small plates so that we can share our appetizers. They didn't check on us often. Anytime we need something, we have to call them or come to them to ask. They didn't wait for us to finish ordering. They ran away immediately after we ordered 1 or 2 dishes. It took us 4 attempts to get all the dishes we want. In the last attempt, we ordered BBQ meat with one server, and he said he had to ask another server. In the end, they completely forgot the meat I'm not going to come back or recommend it to anyone.
My favourite place for spicy braised monkfish as it reminds me of my grandma’s version! It has the perfect amount of spicy and the fish is tender. Other restaurants just add too much sprouts and the fish is chewy. Also recommend any cold noodles!
Came here for the raw marinated crab and was pleasantly surprised to learn that they serve a bowl of rice and soup with it if you order it as a meal. It was my first time trying raw marinated crab and I enjoyed it, though I don’t think I see myself ordering it a lot in the future. I also chose the spicy beef soup for my order and it was delicious. My friend ordered the beef tartar stone bowl which came with a bean soup both dishes were amazing - something I would come back for. Overall, I think the quality and quantity you receive for the price is amazing.
Good taste, but not that memorable. We wanted to try the marinated raw crab - the seasoning was good, but there was so little meat in the crab that I'm not sure it was worth it. I heard there's way more meat if you eat in.
This place is one of the best Korean foods for your money in GVRD. Ignore its 4 stars because it is located in Korea town and hence extremely competitive here in terms of authenticity and value so the less than perfect rating is harsh and under rated. Excellent service, price point and amazing quality ingredients and freshness. Taste is also excellent. It deserves a 5 stars. Probably one of the best seafood pancakes in GVRD but their other dishes are also excellent. This is not a large place and is very busy so expect to wait.
Very delicious Korean style bbq & cousin. The bbq beef recommended by our server is very tasty. The raw beef tartar also is the highlight Not to mention the sashimi & pork belly is great too. I remember the combo set we ordered also including rice in Korean hot pot, hot cod fish spice soup…..and three more different style salad….very delicious
Tried the spicy pork entrails, kinda oily but tastes pretty good. However, the monkfish hot pot was very disappointing. It is a pot full of bean sprouts… like 1 kg of it.. not much fish at all… and the taste has a strange smell might be I’m not used to the fish smell. In terms of service, we did not receive any drinks/water until we asked for it. And then the cups were not given either. Would recommend trying to the regular menu item or bbq instead of the specialty items.
Hidden gem. Their lunch special for 2 people is a great deal. At least people need to try once. But the place is quite busy so there could be extended waiting time for a table.Food: 5/5
Wow! This is a feast for royalty. The portions are gigantic and the flavours of each dish are out of this world. I highly recommend the sashimi don with spicy sauce on the side, pork bone soup, and the seafood pancake. The servers are all friendly too!
This place gets BUSY! If you want to get a seat, get there early, or expect to line-up! Now there’s a reason they get busy, their pricing is not the cheapest out there, but the quality of ingredients and the service is top notch! Getting the 2 person couple set for $90 was actually a decent deal. There was plenty of meat for two, and you get to try a bit of everything. The soup was well made, and they helped refill our small dishes whenever needed. I would definitely recommend ordering the sets if you aren’t sure what you want, get there early, and have a couple of drinks.
