Always drove by and my eyes always glanced at their yellow sign. So came to try out their signature pork soup at $17.99, made it large for extra $5 to share between two people and added an extra rice for $2. When the soup was served, it was bubbling hot, which I really appreciated. If you are not familiar with this soup, it will come as very bland. That's where you ask for salt and the server actually bring you a set of condiments from left to right: salted baby shrimps, salt, pepper and spicy paste. You get to add how much salt you want but to me personally it's not the same as having the salt dissolve during the cooking process. The pork meat was very tough so I don't think it's meant to be consumed so we really only drank the soup, ate the rice with side dishes. My verdict is this signature soup is not for me. I think I might come back for other Korean dishes on their menu but not their signature soup. At first glance, I got to say the menu is very hard to read with the design and placement of things. This is the first time I have to look hard to understand what I'm reading.
I’ve been here many times and obviously it’s good because I keep coming back. The flavour of the soup is amazing. Makes me think that I was actually in Busan in South Korea. The portions are big and the food itself never disappoints. Had to take one star away though because there is one server that looks like she is always angry and doesn’t want to be there.
A busy restaurant with lots of food options. The staff were not the friendliest but the food made up for it. We had a huge party and the food came out fast. My favourite was the onions with deep fried chicken. I also loved how generous the side dishes were too. I would come back for the food.
I had the deep fried dumplings, boneless fried chicken, and dwaeji-gukbap. Overall, the dishes tasted bland. The fried chicken wasn't crispy and juicy. The dumpling filling was nothing special. The dwaeji gukbap broth tasted like water. The rice served with the soup was mushy and gummy. It was a very disappointing dinner.Food: 1/5
Accommodating staff, kind of dark interior.. the fried chicken had a good flavour but I think they over fried or re-fried.. so it was chewy and dry.. soup and rabokki were good
In my opinion, the taste of food at a restaurant is more important than the service, so despite all the bad reviews about this place, I think their pork gukbap is very legit and tasty. The plain soup is pretty bland, but they do provide seasoning at the beginning to spice it up. And the spicy soup I got is perfectly seasoned. Definitely hit the spot on a cold rainy day!
Great spot for army style noodles. They mixed 3 types of noodles, intestine, and vegetables in a giant pot. It’s enough for 3 normal people. The broth is flavorful and gets better as it simmers down. The service was friendly but had to press button multiple times. Right now they are checking vaccination cards.
The “sweet tteokbokki stick” was so chewy, sweet and savory, my friend really liked this. The bibimbap was huge for one, I was really full after this. Also, I loved the banchan so much, they got seasoned pretty well, crunchy and sour, made the taste more exciting
The foods are delicious. I like the stone bibimbap, toppoki and their side dishes. The price is also reasonable compared to their portion size. The restaurant's atmosphere, serving time and service were also good. However the fried chicken was a little bit dry.
Great place whenever my hubby craves busan pork soup when he gets cold. He feels instantly better after the soup. They say the content gets measured to the same but I feel that the quality and the quantity are much less at busier times. Today I complained that I did not get much meat last time then I got the most meat in the soup that I ever had. I wish the quality and quantity always get consistent. Another suggestion...revise the menu to include sharable dishes between 2 people who also has a soup for each. We would order a medium size bossam or sundae for 20 dollar range to share but they only have 40 dollar range...so we end up not ordering..I think if there was a smaller, less expensive option we would order it every time.
