I recently visited this Vietnamese restaurant for the first time . The decor is traditional and the color scheme is unusual.Despite it being a busy Sunday, I was served my order within 10 minutes. I ordered the beef Pho and a side of spring rolls and was pleased with both. The beef was tender and the broth was flavorful. The spring rolls were crispy and filled with delicious vegetables. I was also happy with the generous portion sizes. Overall, I had a good experience at this restaurant."
We used to offten eat at the old place that was in this space . They had good food at a good price. Today was our first at the new restaurant, Ivy's Kitchen. Ivy has revamped the old place. New furniture, new floors, painted, washrooms fixed up. The place looks fresh and clean. The owner made us feel welcome and the service was good. My wife had the grilled pork dish and I had the grilled short rib. Both were delicious and we will be back for more. New menu and the price point is slightly up from the old place but the quality of the food is certainly better.
A Vietnamese friend recommended me this restaurant. It is surely the best pho I have had in Vancouver! Super flavorful and rich broth, al dente noodles, and very generous portions Another surprise highlight for me was the rice cake omelette. The rice cakes are crispy and the sauce was tangy and refreshing, sided nicely by a salad. Also really like their chili oil. Service is warm and fast as well! So the food is also warm when it arrives Will come back again and again for sure!
Dined in for lunch and had their Spring Roll Vermicelli with Grilled Pork, and another with Lemongrass Chicken. Prices were a little high but inflation has caused all prices to increase lately. Service was good and the food came out in a timely manner! The spring rolls had a nice crunch and both meats were tender and flavorful.
The restaurant is clean and cozy. The Bun Bo Hue has good portion and the broth is flavorful. Best Bun Bo Hue in town so far. The service is quick, attentive, friendly. They also have good vegetarian options too : Will come back again in the future !
Phenomenal experience, this joint is dope and hands down probably the best vegetarian Vietnamese experience outside of Vietnam!! Whilst the satay wasn't what I'm used to, it was absolutely flawless and so incredibly yummy which perfectly complimented some huge fat Gỏi cuốn Vietnamese Fresh Salad Rolls stuffed with Tofu and fresh veggies. The portion size was great, although probably more for two people I had no problem polishing them off as they were so good. The Pho Ćhay again stuffed with a plentiful portion of tofu, also had an awesome and splendid satay base. I literally slurped every last drop of the entire thing, wow super tasty! Staff were also kind enough to throw me in some extra chillies to make it nice and spicy, perfection. Staff are incredibly friendly, very kind and approachable as well as fantastically talented at making out of this world grub! I cannot wait to visit here again and is a solid go-to option. Support local businesses!
was excited to try this place based on the reviews but it was disappointing. pricing was on the higher end and doesn’t look like any interior changes from the old Pho restaurant except perhaps some new floor tiles. ordered Pho and Bun Bo Hue - meat was dry and rough even the beef balls were hard! soup base was not very flavourful for the BBH and the pork bone meat was not edible. the salad roll spring rolls which were alright - did not like the super thick peanut sauce for the dip. presentation of food and decor can be drastically improved. won’t be coming back. 4 items came to $51.
Super friendly staff and absolutely delicious food. We particularly like the salad rolls. Food is prepared within minutes so you don’t have to wait long. Everything is very reasonably priced. We’ve ordered here several times and the food has been consistently good. I would not necessarily dine in though as the space does not look very cozy or welcoming - but that may just be me.
Been to Ivy's Kitchen Vietnamese Restaurant twice for dinners. Service is okay but it's painful flagging someone down for tea refills. Their house specials are the way to go. - Vegetarian spring rolls $10.75 - pricey. - Herbs - basil, bean sprouts, lime wedges. - Bun rieu $16.75 - two chunks of delicious, homemade crab, Viet ham, pork blood, tofu, tomato. Broth was clean with good depth. - 2x Pho sate $16.75 - more coconut milk than peanut sauce. An okay sate, wanted more peanut flavour. - Bun bo hue $16.75 - light in depth. Good variety of meats. Not my favourite BBH in town but decent. - Bun cha ca $16.75 - light but balanced. Dill note came through. Plenty of fish cakes. Above average bowls at Ivy's. 3.5 stars.
Clean and spacious restaurant with customer parking. Ordered the satay pho with beef. All the ingredients are very fresh. The coconut milk overpowered the satay. So it would be more ideal and delicious if the satay broth come with less coconut and more peanut flavour looking more like the photo in the menu.
